With South Yorkshire already having created two heritage liveries, with Doncaster also on the way and First Manchester also creating several heritage liveries to recognise the formation of SELNEC in April 1974 (many good pics on flickr), does anyone know if First West Yorkshire have any intention of doing the same to recognise the start of Metro in 1974?.

SELNEC was 1967, GMPTE was 1974.

That would be interesting! A Gemini in WYPTE colours! Need some old adverts too for the sides. The plain old Yellow CIS for insurance was one that ran for a while.

Wouldn't HJC have been a problem with that, basically painting a bus in another company's livery

Did not do anything neither in 2011 to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of trolleybus operations in Bradford or Leeds, nor last year to mark the 40th anniversary of Bradford ending trolleybus services

It would be nice to think FWY could do what FGM have done and introduce at least one "Heritage" liveried bus at each depot. FSY have got in the act, as they have a couple painted up down there. AFAIK the only "Heritage" painted bus FWY have is Huddersfield Royale 30843 which unfortunately is scheduled for withdrawal soon.

FWY are missing a trick here, would be a great public relations excercise for them! I loved the Yorkshire Rider "Building on a Great Tradition" series, they looked fantastic.
