New ticket valid all weekend from 1800 Fri to 2400 Sunday buy on the bus Details on the Metro website. Ticket launches tomorrow (Friday) and will cost £8. Valid on all buses in West Yorkshire. www.wymetro.com/news/New_Weekender_bus_ticket/Follows a similar move in Greater Manchester, where a System One Weekender ticket was introduced recently for all buses and valid for the same time period. Ticket for 1 person costs £10 (same as two day tickets) while there is also a ticket for two people at £15 (perhaps something for Metro to consider) www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk/travelcards/weekender

That is a decent ticket. I've been critical of Metro in the past but they are really trying to integrate ticketing and revolutionise the ticketing system in West Yorks, I'll give em that. They just need to get their fingers out on other areas.

I tried buying a £8 weekender ticket last night whilst boarding the First Leeds service 14 into Leeds. The driver didn't know that they had already started selling them and after checking the Ticket Machine noticed the fares hadn't be loaded as well.

I hate to be so sceptical sometimes but why does that not surprise me! When I saw Metro announcing it on the web site with little fanfare and short notice it was inevitable that passengers like yourself would become stuck. Just out of interest what happened - were you forced to buy a standard day ticket instead?

And it doesn't come as a surprise that the operator in question is First either.

One of the biggest problems with this country is the 'I'm not bothered' attitude, if an employee could be jailed for not doing their job we'd soon see the back end of muck ups like the lack of communication from management to staff when it comes to ticket launches!
