Good luck getting a response out of Transdev, they usually don't bother or make up some lame excuse and seem to learn nothing from their mistakes. They always seem to leave service change info to the last minute, and combined with their anti social media policy it really is unacceptable

They always seem to leave service change info to the last minute, and combined with their anti social media policy it really is unacceptable When they see notices like the ones on getdown.org.uk/b/844 publicly slating them, they might start to get the message that this attitude is going to cost them serious numbers of passengers... So how exactly do tourists and NYMR users get to Goathland which is affected by the 840 changes If the worst comes to the worst, they can catch the NYMR from Pickering, as they are increasingly having to do anyway, with the service to Whitby being progressively whittled away. But looking at the map, I think Goathland will be OK, because the route the bus takes from TLD to Goathland is over 15 miles, so they can run non-stop for that section and still meet the criteria for an express service. It's just people travelling to/from Lockton and visiting Hole of Horcum that are screwed.

I'm sure they'll be devastated when they see the message on that website. Is it one that gets 1,000,000 hits a week and used across the globe?

Can't see anything different to a normal Summer timetable. As for the bank holiday that has just gone the winter timetable made it clear there would be a Sunday service on bank holidays, just some people asummed that it would not apply to the May day one.

Timetable doesn't seem to show these "limited stop" journeys, so guess the ideas been dropped.

I'm sure they'll be devastated when they see the message on that website. Is it one that gets 1,000,000 hits a week and used across the globe? Your sarcastic put-down is much appreciated. For what it's worth, my website gets about 3000 visitors every day, which equates to about 250,000 hits per week ... not quite a million, but you're close enough that it's you who looks silly here rather than me. And if by "across the globe", you would count getting at least 10 hits from each of the following countries in the last two weeks then yes, it is used across the globe: Great Britain, United States, Germany, Switzerland, European country, Sweden, Spain, France, China, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Ireland, Thailand, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, New Zealand, Denmark, Czech Republic, Japan, India, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Hong Kong, Israel, Turkey, Malta, Lithuania, Brazil, Singapore, Portugal, Latvia, South Korea, Guatemala, Romania, Greece, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Slovak Republic, Jersey, Belarus, Estonia, Philippines, Morocco, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Algeria, Croatia, Argentina, Cyprus, Georgia, Iraq, Peru, Qatar, Panama, Pakistan, Mexico and ChileAs for the bank holiday that has just gone the winter timetable made it clear there would be a Sunday service on bank holidays, just some people asummed that it would not apply to the May day one. I beg to differ. Neither the words "bank" nor "public" appear once in the timetable (PDF version online), and "holiday" only appears alongside "school". There is nothing to indicate what service pattern runs on bank holidays. If there is additional information in the printed one that they have failed to publish online, that is no excuse – not when the majority of passengers will rely on the online timetable. Yorkshire Coastliner have been in discussions with North Yorkshire County Council and have struck a new deal over reimbursement figures today. The plans to run express services from Thornton-le-Dale to Whitby (840) and Rillington to Scarborough (843) are now scrapped. Great news, and something you might have thought they would have made a fanfare of on their website, but no, there's nothing. Although I'm a little surprised that this was passed by VOSA, given that the summer timetable was registered back in March, presumably with the limited stop services, so this must have gone through as a short notice change.

I dont know, but with maths like that, I think its you that is still looking the silly one. Put it this way, 1 hit a week or 300,000,000, Transdev will have been publicly stated before and will not be loosing sleep over the fact someone has put it on their website/forum. To think that they will react because someone has seen your website, is rather amusing. They have bigger fish to fry.

To be fair Transdev should be aiming for zero negative publicity, if their professional they should be concerned with every bit of negative publicity and not just brush it off. Anyway, I have to say they've once more made North Yorkshire County Council spend money, something tax payers find hard to do, e.g just think about all those pot holes, closed libraries, axed evening/Sunday bus services etc.
