A number of services from the north end of Liverpool will be re-routed this weekend, which I guess will be in anticipation of the redevelopment of Great Homer Street which includes a new Sainsbury's (you mean not another Tesco's - Sconehead may understand where I'm coming from on this!). Services 53, 311/345/350 and 26/27 will run along Great Homer Street where as they run via Scotland Road. Great Homer Street currently only has the 56 and 58 serving it.

Slightly off topic but after the two Liverpool DUKW sinkings one of the London based ones caught fire on the Thames. The driver and passengers had a VERY lucky escape.

When this operator started in 2011 I gave them three years tops. Their demise is no surprise, they did not have a stable network and frankly Arriva, Avon and Stagecoach have the Wirral covered and there is no room for another commercial operator.. sconehead85

Liverpool's bus lanes have been suspended as of today (21 October), as part of a 9 month experiment to study traffic flow. The move was made by the city's mayor Joe Anderson, who claims that bus lanes don't work. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-24606912

This is a retrograde step IMHO but some of the bus lanes were on narrow streets where there was little room for other traffic. Bus lanes should be on a minimum of one out of three lanes so other traffic can move. I don't think it will affect reliability of buses as reliability is not a strong point for Arriva and Stagecoach.
The poor stopping facilities in the city centre also affects reliability.

It is a very retrograde step. The bus companies are trying to improve reliability as part of a Quality Partnership which is now seriously undermined. As small shift back to cars by some users will slow buses further and you are not a vicious circle of less reliable buses so more cars.
