Ferchrissake – Arriva have already changed the timetables for most of their Selby services once this year already – why can't they make their minds up? There should be absolutely no reason for long-established routes to have a revised timetable twice in four months.
Interesting to see the 494/496 changing hands again ... how many operators has that been through now?

Utopia are taking over service 8 and maybe service 42 from April. I really hope that isn't true. Well, not bothered about the 8, but from a personal point of view, if Utopia take over the 42 and don't put on a full evening and Sunday service then it's going to be grossly inconvenient. At the moment, I have a choice of getting the 42, which runs close to my house and gives a reliably punctual arrival into York in the morning, but is no use if I want to return home later in the evening and not so much use on a Sunday – or the 415/416, which is a bit of a walk away and is reliably 15 minutes late into York in the morning, but gives me the convenience of being able to stay out after 6.30pm – and my one annual ticket covers me for both routes. If the 42 changes hands and I have to choose between a season ticket with Utopia (if they even do them) or a season ticket with Arriva then, unless the Utopia ticket is quite a bit cheaper (so that I can buy a few single tickets on the 415 and not be out of pocket) it's going to cost me a lot more money every time I go out after work. Which I would not be happy about.

Probably a Dalesbus linking into the 23 which I think was previously run by someone other than Transdev.

Utopia are taking over service 8 and maybe service 42 from April. According to the Travel York website, the 42 will be commercially operated by Arriva, while Utopia will run a new 420 service, which will run along the same route as the 42. Utopia will also run a new 422 service between York and South Milford via Cawood. The service to South Milford is one that is long overdue, and should be fairly straightforward. I suspect that the Arriva 42 will continue on a reduced timetable (some journeys are definitely worth Arriva continuing to run commercially!), with the 420 filling in the gaps. At least, I hope Arriva will be continuing to run at the very least the peak-time journeys – nothing against Utopia, but unless they accept Arriva tickets as part of the contract, I don't want to be using them...

Probably a Dalesbus linking into the 23 which I think was previously run by someone other than Transdev. The 823/825 is a Dalesbus service – it mostly provides a service in Upper Nidderdale, round Pateley Bridge, but also includes an inbound/outbound working as well – last year (and on a limited service through the winter) it was run by Utopia from South Milford, but from April it is being run by Transdev from Heslington. Will be interesting to see what vehicles they put on it – I would expect it to be something pretty small, in order to negotiate the tight lanes, but a Solo (or gods help us the Primo) all the way from York wouldn't be the nicest of rides. See getdown.org.uk/b/825-summer for the full timetable.

This company appears to only have a restricted licence. So this service can only be operated by a small bus.

Used to be 251/252 back in the day Bradford to Dewsbury direct via Batley. Now that is going back abit,i think it was around 4-5 year ago when 284 got withdrawn (Theres still the old black bus shelter near batley rail stn that no service uses),if i remember correctly it was marketed alongside 209/219/229 for Birstall Shopping Pk,when 284 was first introduced i think it went from Ouzelwell Est Via Thornhill Road & Webster Hill Into Dewsbury, straight along Bradford Rd into birstall cnt, went all around fieldhead then to Birstall Shopping Pk,not sure how long untill it was terminated in Dewsbury & fieldhead loop was simplifed with Ouzelwell Est being served by Whitley/Grange Moor Circ (207/208 i think they were called) & then eventully got merged into the current 128

Didn't Arriva did run most journeys commercially before?
