Seen a Volvo Olympian RH on tow passing Leeds Bus Station which I assume came from CR, didn't see fleetnumber! Sorry. Michael Windle Yesterday there were just 5 Olympians in CR, 31771/2/3/805/806 so it'll have been one of those I assume. I see, thanks for the info! Michael Windle

And the Solo? Yes, I had a look late afternoon today and everything has gone. On Tues there were 5 Olympians & 1 Solo visible but now nothing to be seen. It'll be interesting to know where the Solos have gone. The Strider trainer 61364 & 34101/207 had gone by last weekend and it looks like the two purple slugs have gone earlier this week.

So whats the news on CR? Have First sold it or are they planning to move back in? There's been a 'For sale' sign on the main gate for a long time advertising the site as an ideal Garage/Workshop etc. Over the past couple of weeks there appears to have been a renewed urgency to clear the entire site so whether this indicates a buyer has been found I'm not sure but we'll probably learn more about the site over the coming weeks.

Have heard National Express mentioned, presumably to save having coaches parked in Bradford & Leeds on street and in the interchanges overnight. Then again, Your Bus may be interested in using it as a Yorkshire base, and it may save a lot of dead mileage to/from Hetton for the Knaresborough/Ripon/Skipton services.

It is still up for sale but I imagine Nat Ex & Your Bus would look to lease the property, rather than buy it out right, as I imagine there would be a fairly hefty price tag on the units/land.

I remember a while back saying it would be a good asset to sell on another board, I'm surprised it's taken them this long to sell it! On a side note, why aren't First forcing Leeds Council to do something with that shell of a building next to Hunslet depot, land is going begging what could be used to store buses, Leeds Council would sooner spend money on some pointless pop concert than tidy up it's mess!

What makes it a good asset to sell? It would be ideal for a warehouse or car park & shuttle into Leeds, but again for the latter to work, it would likely to be leased rather than bought outright. On the building(s) surrounding HP, it 99% wont have anything to do with LCC. If the building is safe then there is no reason why the owners can't keep it in it's current state. If it was LCC's property, they'd have had it up for sale a long time ago.

South Point were offices belonging to those idiots who run Leeds, basically they couldn't move everybody to different offices before the road was built, these idiots have never heard of portacabins!!!! The building is safe, however it's blocking space First can use and I'm assuming belongs to First (Douthwates yard covered a much bigger area than the current Hunslet parking area so presuming First bought all Douthwates land as well), more importantly it's a wreck, visitors must think 'oh christ I've overslept and I'm in Middlesbrough!', believe me you only have to look at the old York Road Library to see how slack the council are.

Well if First own it, then it is their problem. If LCC/someone else own it, then they can leave it however they like. Who cares if its a wreck, especially if LCC own it, i'd rather them spend money on vital services like housing etc rather than knocking some building down that doesn't look appealing.

Assuming First would want to buy that extra land to store buses, they seem to have enough space for their current operations.

I'd rather the idiots SPEND money on demolishing an embarrasing heavily vandalised wreck than see money dissappear from the city, by way of lost investment, and events like drugs in the park! What a joke the North is to those with money down South and elsewhere in the world, I'm really not surprised investment is as slow as it is in Leeds when you see South Point which is a half demolished wreck, over 30 years of that wreck called Kirkgate, god knows how many years of that wreck called Hunslet Mills amongst many other eyesores. I remember a comment some time ago on here that First were waiting for dopey council to demolish the building so they could use the land next to the inner fence for extra parking, at the moment some buses are parked on the road, if I were in charge of First Hunslet depot I'd be encouraging First management to sue the council for blocking land they can not use!

If the land is currently owned by LCC but leased by First then yes fair enough sue to your hearts content. As I imagine that isn't the case, they dont have any grounds (pardon the pun) to do so.

Having driven passed the building we've discussed last night, it is up for sale privately, meaning either there is a private owner (If it were LCC there would be a blue sign outside). So if First wanted the land, they would have bought it by now. I imagine they've inquired about it, but nothing else. The negates all blame on LCC and your requests to have them demolish it/clean it up as it is simply not their problem.

Believe me they own it, they had several departments based there and selling a half demoloshed building sounds about right for the council

Obviously owning self storage units is part of LCC's portfolio isn't it? I imagine it was sold in 2009 after LCC moved out in 2008 with a view for the new owner to create a self storage unit on there (probably Ready Steady Store as they have a habit of this sort of thing, see their unit that never was on the ring road at Beeston) work started on the unit but never fully materialised due to the economic downturn etc and now lies derelict.
