In June I rode 36279 & 36280 on route 22. As the rest of this batch are of course with First Leeds, this gave me the feeling I was in Leeds! Of course, they had no Pulse branding though.

Unfortunately not, reports suggest the outgoing E400's from Oldham are going to Queens Rd, Bristol, and Devon & Cornwall, getting 10 each. Oldham will receive B7/9TL's in return, but no reports yet as to where the older Volvo's will come from.

With most if not all heritage liveries now gone First Manchester have started repainting their Volvo B5LH/Gemini 2 hybrids out of silver into standard fleet livery, think yourself lucky you live in Yorkshire, Vantage apart First Manchester must now be becoming the most boring fleet in the First empire.
Reading up on her from when she was appointed as MD the person in charge there appears to be a money person and seems completely out of step with the rest of First. Other areas are still painting buses up into heritage colours, Potteries unveiled two more yesterday, Manchester on the other hand is becoming a very very corporate fleet and of course there are rumours about depot closures. It all seems from this side of the Pennines that it's very much like the bad old days in North Manchester.

There are still a couple of Citaros and Solos in the old livery. I thought that the B5LHs would have adopted a similar livery to the ones in Leeds when they were repainted from silver.

Manchester but not really First Bus, The £300k bus shelter which has free WiFi, phone chargers and touchscreens The country’s first ‘super shelter’ is up and running - so passengers can now charge their phones and get free WiFi at a Piccadilly bus stop. With art design from Factory Records legend Peter Saville, the snazzy £300,000 pilot hub also features live travel information. Developed by Transport for Greater Manchester with JCDecaux and RATP, the stop near Piccadilly train station features free mobile charging points and wifi. Passengers can also keep up to date on news, travel and city information on digital touchscreens. The shelter – a first for the UK – also has warm lighting and comfy seating. Currently on ‘trial’, transport bosses will be asking customers for their views and may introduce even more services to test out. The technology comes courtesy of AUREL Design Urbain supported by art director Peter Saville, known for his work as co-founder of Manchester’s legendary Factory Records. As consultant creative director to Manchester, Peter’s brief was to make sure the shelter reflects Tony Wilson’s vision that in Manchester ‘we do things differently’. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/300k-bus-shelter-free-wifi-11929732#ICID=FB-MEN-mainIf you at the weather screen you will see that it is raining, well that must be a first for Manchester, although I'm not sure how many intending passengers will be able to keep dry under the stops canopy.................

I can see hoards of the youth , running to wireless charging points at Piccadilly gardens and I'm 26 lol. The idea of free wifi at shelters is good.

First are planning a review of bus services in the Oldham area with a view of making changes in April 2017. Online survey available until 8 December, along with several consultation sessions at libraries in the borough and Oldham bus station. Might be a case that First could be looking at splitting some of their cross-town services to improve reliability along with re-routing services in the town centre to better serve places. www.firstgroup.com/greater-manchester/more/oldham-bus-network-review

I think the Torrington & Jericho local services could be withdrawn and then taken up by Rosso. The Ramsbottom 472/74 circular and other interurban services should be retained by First.

Rosso do seem to be expanding a little bit, I think Metroline could well be proved correct.
