Once again, I shall ask, any idea where (or, indeed even if), there will be a new depot in Huddersfield?.

All 4 new buses have arrived, these been YJ65 EOR/EOS/EOT/EOU. Some more will be arriving in the new year from what I've been told. YJ62 FPT, YD63 UZG & YJ15 AXT will be getting used until they arrive.

No just we get a decent increase every year unlike a lot of other companies that only put about 10p on every couple of years. Last increase was 25p.

Any idea behind the fleet numbering system, or are they just randomly generated?.

They use the last 5 digits on all new vehicles, they used to use the last 4 but I think there was some clashing especially with ADL's & Optares in same fleet so it was better to use the last 5.

Just wondering how TLC are getting on with the Huddersfield services. I know things are pretty early on, but every time i've passed a TLC solo, at anytime during the day, they've always looked to be barely loaded or empty, and that appears to be on every route they operate. I do hope they make a success of it, but i worry if long incumbents like Stotts or Tiger couldn't make these routes viable, then perhaps TLC aren't doing either. It's always a gamble operating niche/rural routes even with tender payments, but we can only report what we see with our own eyes, and so far it's a case of Hmmm! with TLC.

It's always a gamble operating niche/rural routes even with tender payments, but we can only report what we see with our own eyes, and so far it's a case of Hmmm! with TLC. As long as you have got your sums right (so you are reflecting your costs accurately, something not all operators manage all the time) then the only gamble in running tendered work is whether or not the council will withdraw them earlier than the end of the tender. The loadings on tendered work, as long as it was what was expected, is less of an issue to the operator but is an issue for the local authority who have to justify the funding of the service. Success or failure for an operator on work like this doesn't rely on passenger usage, though if TLC manage to achieve a noticeable increase then that would show a big win, but on getting the combined (cash, concessions & tender payments) income above the full costs of providing the work (both fixed & running costs). I don't think most of these routes have ever been busy routes, indicated by the fact that they are tendered services, so would not be expected to have a many if any passengers for many sections of many journeys.

From what I was told on Monday, by a resident of Stocksmoor, the 341 was meant to have been withdrawn at the end of 2015, and are very grateful, that TLC have at least secured it's future for the time being, albeit every 90/120 minutes. The 2 early morning 341's from Stocksmoor to Huddersfield, Monday-Friday, each get around half to 3/4 full, and there's quite a few from Stocksmoor, Thurstonland, Farnley Tyas get the TLC weekly ticket, yes, after then. until mid afternoon, they're not bursting at the seams. Also the 0755 303 from Scapegoat Hill also gets a healthy load with people coming into Huddersfield
