From now on, that's the style of seat cushions to be used on Firstgroup buses. On a separate note, Leather seating is also being used on B9TLs (Refering to those being delivered elsewhere within First's bus Division). In long term, this might replace it overall.
First Huddersfield has got all Volvo Citibuses in that style too. Assuming if this is the case, I suppose all buses going in for a refurbishment will get this style.
At last! The 72 Finally get's Gemini's.

I quite like the look of this, especially the blue on the front, although this is perhaps only because any relief from the uniform First livery is usually welcome. The destinations listed along the top windows is perhaps now becoming a common feature of route branding - it seems that poor Stanningley is having a bit of a struggle to fit on that small centre pane.
Probably the best part is the emphasis in large letters that the service links Bradford and Leeds - i.e. a rare case of route branding that looks like it could actually work in attracting people's attention to the fact that new buses run regularly along this busy commuter corridor.

I think the new livery looks good. The 72 is my local route, and I've made a short video of the new liveried B9's. It is in the multimedia section on the forum home page. Enjoy!

First Bradford seem to be connecting up the whole Circuit !
I Saw an X6 bus- The branding is just the same as the 72 except that it is 'connecting the region'.
This means that the Express livery is being dropped in favour for this branding. Surely the Express livery may have been better off for X6.
Also, the blue on the X6 should have been some different colour as it is used by 72 on the same route (almost) between Bradford & Leeds. Apart from this ~ the branding is good.

It does seem silly if the X6 is using the exact same branding. Daft as it sounds these two routes compete with each other, as advertising the 72 as the connection between Leeds and Bradford is a bit silly when the X6 is the faster option. The 72 is more of an option for journeys to and from intermediate stops.
As has been previously discussed, they should really use this relaunch to upgrade the X6 with an increase in frequency and/or later evening and Sunday running.

With the new '08 plate B9 Geminis with X6 branding in service, what will happen to the existing '06' plate B7 Gemini's what are already on the X6? Will they be kept on X6 with express livery?

They would most likely get repainted into B3 and put on to other First bradford routes.

strange why they are both blue route branding maybe they have done this so that joe public just sees a blue branding and thinks that the buses are every 5 minutes but 2 routes that go more or less the same way. wounder if the rest of bradfords fleet are getting this type of branding? orange line would look good!!!!
so far in 72 branding is; 37063,37064,37065,37066???
and x6 so far are 37079,37080??? should be 8/9 of these

X6 should have 7 buses branded. Every 20 minutes - 70 mins total one way, end to end.

9 buses operate the X6, it takes 3 hours to do a round trip I thought it was just seven looking at the timetable... do the drivers wait over at leeds bus station or is it to do with peak time traffic? I'm pretty sure an off-peak service takes 70 mins.

It's a bit longer than 70 mins thesedays looking at the timetable its now 79 mins off peak
plus they have 11 mins layover at each end to improve reliability
The longest journey times are on the 0723 & 0738 Huddersfield to Leeds journeys which take a massive 97 mins end to end!

Think about it - you are suggesting that a service with a 70-minute journey time (return time therefore is 140 mins) needs 7 buses on a 20-minute headway (presumably because you divided 140 mins by 20). So as soon as the bus pulls into Leeds and Huddersfield it goes immediately back out again?! Of course there is some layover time at each end.

Yes I know that, I was just wondering why there were 7 buses in the express livery. It's that what got me thinking into it as been 7 buses.
Westyorkshirebus,
You're timing is just about right, it usually takes 40 minutes on an off-peak journey between Huddersfield & Bradford.
I used to get on the 0738 last year but the build up of congestion at brighouse has forced me to get on to the earlier 0723 (as the 0738 can sometimes reach bradford for 0850, which is no good for me, as I need to get to University for 9).
There certainly needs to be a bus lane in the bradford bound direction, between brighouse Rail station and about 1/2 mile up or so. There is room to shift the lanes up and add in a bus lane.

I don't think a bus lane would be worth it as there is only 6 buses an hour along that route. Congestion in Brighouse does need to be sorted out though but is unlikely to be as the only other route for through traffic (the M62 & M606) is also queuing at peak times

as the new B9TLs have route branding so far i know:
37063-37066 for 72 37071-37074 for 640/1 37079-37083 for X6
these are the ones ive seen so far does anyone know of the others?

From a freind at Bradford :
37071-78 Red Line 640/1 37079-84 X6 37085-91 Routes 623-7 37092-95 Routes 681/2 37096-99 Routes 617/8 37100-02 Route 15
Didn't get 37067-70 but would imagine at least a couple will be 72. That's only a guess though.

I would have thought the Green Line 645 would have got new buses instead of 681/682, 617/618.
I'm not sure about X6 having just 6 buses - Would they not make it fully B9TL bus operated? Service such as the 15, 681/682, 617/618 should get the X6 geminis.
