from 13 Feb, between Vicar Lane and Briggate, the Headrow will be closed for 2 weeks and have overnight closures for a third week. This is for re-surfacing work and will affect the junctions at either end on the third week. Buses towards the Town Hall will use the opposite carrigeway, don't panic, there won't be a massive pile up because buses towards Eastgate will be diverting via New Briggate and Vicar Lane. Bearing in mind the bottle kneck sometimes caused by too many taxi's on the adjacent rank, if this means buses end up travelling faster using New Briggate/Vicar Lane, I wonder would First make the diversion permanent?

508 going via Park Row, Duncan Street, Boar Lane to bus station. Where it's dropping off no clue.
33/33a depending on driver is turning left onto Albion Street, dropping at 56/51/55 stop for H9 and onto the city loop! I've seen the 72 do this, and the X6 do the same.

Hopped off the 56 at Eastgate yesterday. The junction of Eastgate/Vicar Ln was a Complete Road rage. By the evening Metro had put a warning of Delays on the Next Stop displays. Looks like this could end up in a total Farce!

One thing I've noticed is you don't see much happening overnight, the council should be throwing money at this scheme and get it out of the way with sharp! Ive seen a number of schemes what were not necessary such as replacing perfectly good kerb stones with new ones, replacing tarmac with tarmac (ay, wtf is that all about!), total waste of money which could have been used on The Headrow scheme! If only First and Arriva had the bottle to sue the council for lost fuel or even revenue when people give up waiting and call a taxi, we can only dream!

They probably could through the Local Transport Act 2008 which makes references to the Traffic Management Act, whereby the highways authority has a duty to ensure that the road network freely flows (something along those lines). Bus operators could probably do this through Traffic Commissioner.

It was chaos last Thursday when I went into Leeds. Traffic was queing for ages.
As noted in a previous post very little work was being done on the closed section of carriage way. They should have to work round the clock to get it finished or do the work over night and re open it during the day when it's in such a key place.
