Thought I'd put Halifax in the name in advance.
I've just been told that Huddersfield now have a new bus, Dennis Dart East Lancs Spryte P131 PPV. It has Centrebus lettering on the side so is probably for Halifax unless they are Re-Lettering all of them with Centrebus and doing some swapping around.
Plus I've heard that Huddersfield Bus Solo 308 has some Blue lettering on the side but he couldn't see whether it said Centrebus Or Huddersfield Bus Company.

New arrival at Huddersfield Bus Company, reported to be here for driver familiarisation. I don't know if that means it is only temporary or a permanent transfer. Originally supplied to Ipswich, but aquired by Centrebus with the takeover of Trustybus (Trustline of Harlow). Trustybus were an operating name of Galleon Travel, who until not long ago used the fleet name TrustLine Buses Photographed at Waterloo Depot today see;- www.flickr.com/photos/billogs/4234054820/in/photostream/Plus I've heard that Huddersfield Bus Solo 308 has some Blue lettering on the side but he couldn't see whether it said Centrebus Or Huddersfield Bus Company. The lettering is Huddersfield Bus Company as Solo 335 already has. See photo of 308 taken at Waterloo Depot today:- www.flickr.com/photos/billogs/4234054702/in/photostream/

This is a temporary allocation to Halifax to cover the 528 workings (there are 4 due) until new Tempos are delivered, hopefully in mid-Feb. After that they will be transferred elsewhere in the group.

I don't understand why they have sent the centrebus single decker over to huddersfield as haven't they already got that sort of vehicle in the hudersfield bus company fleet.

Well the Sprytes currently in operation with HBC have Volvo B6BLE chassis compared to the one mentioned which is a Dart.

I'm pleased to note that Tempos are on order - I agree with K414 MGN, they are some of the fastest single deckers around with their favourable power/weight ratio. They should cetrtainly make ease of the long slog up from Littleborough to the White House.

I wonder how Centrebus will deal with driver changeovers as the depot is out of the way with no bus service. The 503 is the nearest but still a distance away
Will there be a staff shuttle bus maybe? or perhaps Centrebus will have a facility in Halifax town centre?

They will probably do what HJC do, Use the Bus Station as a change over area and not use the depot at all during the day, they will probably have a shuttle service to the depot about every hour or so what has come off a route - for the drivers to go home from Halifax.

I think they will be getting about 4 or 5 Tempo's as they are getting 4 more Dennis Darts apparently & they'll probably get the same amount of Tempo's to cover for the loss of the Darts.
+ I don't think Waterloo will get any Tempo's as they already have enough buses for their routes and the buses will only be ideal on the 528 service.

Is it just me, or can anyone make any sense whatsoever of the above response?.

i havnt got a clue what he has said it just dosent make sense the 528 uses 3 buses and it interworks with the 574 when i get bk to halifax so it will need another 2 buses so in all the 528 pvr is 5

Can full sized single deckers get up to Booth/Midgley on the 574? First always use either Darts or Olympians

They have to reverse to turn around on a thin road and a full size single decker would be too long to turn around up Midgley

They are not full-size but of a shorter variant of the Tempo (39ish-seaters). To answer another question the reliefs and breaks will take place at Halifax Bus Station with ferry vans to get to/from the depot.

I was wondering if they'd use the Fiat Scudo's to transport drivers - I think that would be more realistic than using First buses & walking.

As some of you may know the Depot went live today and it saw the arrival of Solo's YJ59 NPN, NPO & The East Lancs Dennis Dart P131 PPV and it has been confirmed that Tempo's are on order and should be arriving at the end of February - They also said they don't want to be bothered by enthusiasts this week as they are really busy and it is a H&S risk because there is workmen in fitting compressed air supply for engineering so give them time til' they get settled in.
