It's only a stop gap measure a driver told me. Next year they will be using a B7RLE on the route.

It seems like a lot of effort to re-paint a 17 year old bus that is only going to be used in service for 4½ hours a day, for 40 days ... especially given their haphazard approach to branding in York over the last couple of years! (Not that I'm complaining, I wouldn't want to see this bus being used for anything other than race shuttles...)

Reported yesterday by me. Dont see the need of the 840 run from Acomb myself. Should just run it NIS to Flamingo Land as it is 5mins infront of a normal 840 and the York one is always dead!

The bus is going to mostly work on schools as of september and the odd race course shuttles as well as back up for service. A similer role to F349WSC.

For £80K I hope they get plenty of further mileage out of them. New engines and gearboxes are fine it's all the electronic wizardry and gizmo's will that still remain robust. That's the Achilles heal of the First Artics

First's artics meaning FTR's ?
80k seems a bargain considering it's like a brand new bus.

This week I've seen B7RLEs 1836–1839 in Coastliner livery, plus the 02-reg B10BLE in Coastliner livery, running the 844.
Local York services have had Versas (still in Coastliner livery) and the York-liveried B10BLEs.
Not a scientific study, just what I've seen out and about.

Not sure I'd want to be on an L-reg Olympian all the way from Acomb to Flamingo Land ... it might make the rides seem pretty tame by the time you've got there! To be fair, they're solid buses and the ride is quite decent too.

Not sure hat they would replace at H&D as they've probably got the newer single decker fleet compared to the Lancs lot and even K&D

Eh? How do you work that out Harrogate has not any new single deckers since 2004, nor any newer ones transferred still on its books (and only 1 double decker since then in 2006) whereas Keighley has the 2005 and 2008 B7s plus the 2005 B7s that originated with Coastliner.

Citaros are better buses than any Wright Product in my opinion.

Every time I've been to York recently the Terrible Tales Trident has been notably absent.
Has anyone seen it in use during the peak season?

Sorry, you're right I though some of Harrogate's Eclypses were newer.

I remember getting on one of those when they were brand new at Keighley Bus Rally in 2003.
