Noticed today a repainted Scania saloon on the 28 with a scaled down "Leeds" picture fleetname on the cove panels. This is the first example I have seen in Leeds, looks nice. Think that'll be 61035.

Can't see route branding happening or either working on the Bramley based fleet. As the buses are sent all over the place every other day. For some reason route/bus allocations doesn’t seem to work... This does not apply to the FTR's of course... But maybe this happens because the buses aren't branded, it doesn't matter to the bookman as long as on the whole it is correct, such as B7/B9 guide wheeled buses on 40/56, single guide wheeled on 19/64, singles on 5, ALX400's on 50/50A. Anything else goes, with exception of Hyperlink.. Bramley is no different to Hunslet. Parking is tight at both and you are restricted as to how they are parked by the shunters on a night but there are plans that help with getting the right bus on the right route. First, as a company, should be consistent in their marketing especially in a town/city,not to mention counties if not fleet/country wide.

Don't think it would be too much of a problem because even to this day the former purple line (49)branded Gems 32461-473 are still used almost daily on the 49. Seem to remember the Claret line 16 ALX's being correctly allocated all those years ago too. Also, some of the former Orange Line (50/50A) ALX's are still used almost daily on the 50/50A, although whether you'd want to brand an ALX nowadays, well that's another question.

I will never criticise the state of the WY fleet, certainly at Halifax. This week I have been on my hols to Somerset, and the general state of the fleet there on First's behalf was appalling to say the least. There were some Yorkshire registered B7's (51 and 02 reg) running on the 28 from Taunton to Minehead, even in Taunton and Weston SM apart from a couple in the new livery, the general appearance did nothing to encourage me to ride on one. From memory,60910 to 60915seemed to be the sole inhabitants of the Minehead route. Mind you, to be fair, Quantock Motor Services kept putting their open top Volvo B10M single decker out on their Taunton to Ilfracombe service making up for Firsts apparent lack of interest. Pictures will be on my Flickr site in the next couple of days. (cjr4712)

Apologies if this has been noted already, but of all the buses Halifax could repaint, Marshall bodied Dart 41282 would not have been one i'd expect to see!

If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

Seen 37670 newly repainted on 55. Noticed this ones missing X84 lettering and has Leeds on ( any reason why?) 37670 along with 37668 were both actually repainted April/May time and have been out almost every day so I'm suprised you've not seen it 'til today. At the time of painting the X84 names weren't available so Leeds names were applied. 37672/3/5 were done July and these 3 have X84. 37669/71/4 currently still Barbie. I admit 37670 does still look fresh mainly because it's not carrying an advert on the offside, CBS Outdoor Advertising usually keep 37668/670 free of normal adverts on the offside and utilise the space for the full broadside campaigns that come along from time to time which is why its always been these two that have had the allover side adverts for James Bond, Men in Black etc. I've noticed 37668 has recently gained a normal offside ad, not sure if this was an error by the fixer.

Seen another today I think I've clocked 37686 came out of the Vodafone livery, was on the 42 in the barbie livery no advertisements. Looked out of place compared to other Leeds buses now. Can anyone get a confirmation on this if its another bus as it was driving down park row to fast to glance )

Just wondering if we'd reached the halfway stage yet for the repaint programme in West Yorkshire?. Has anyone an accurate figure for the amount of buses in Leeds,Bradford,Huddersfield,Halifax and York in the new livery, conversely how many left to do?. Bet that's not an easy question to answer!.

Graham Richardsons repaint list quotes 466 for WY, and 17 for York in new livery docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AnZY71pr27bHdDB4cDZndGtzODNnZkZ6dXpZMkgtX2c&gid=3

Thanks, Arriva Wakefield for posting that. Interesting to note that FWY is leading the way with the repaint programme by a country mile. I was surprised to see Glasgow and Manchester had so fewer repaints than us. Maybe our region will be the first operating area to see the complete eradication of Barbie.

Think huddersfield is fastly becoming the first depot to go 100% New livery - Almost all the ALX400s are done,All Singles are done & Geminis - just the Olympians
