Although out of the region, it does affect a West Yorkshire service, which will affect anyone travelling beyond Oldham on the 184 towards Manchester. King Street in Oldham town centre has been closed until early November 2012 to allow Metrolink work to begin nearby (Oldham King Street stop is being built at corner of King Street and Union Street). This will see the 184 (along with other buses in the area) diverted in and out of Oldham bus station. Buses towards Oldham/Huddersfield will run as normal route until King Street/Union Street junction before turning left onto Union Street West, round to John Street, right on to Manchester Street and left onto King Street before continuing as normal up West Street to bus station Buses towards Manchester will run as normal route until West Street/King Street then right onto Manchester Street to roundabout, onto Oldham Way slip road to King Street roundabout, then Ashton Road and as normal route to Piccadilly Gardens. www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/calderdale_huddersfield/travel_news/service_updates/?item=5021&conf=1

A good run is the 184, i use it regularly. I like a change of scenery so im looking forward to my next trip. Do you know how many mins extra it will add on outbound to Piccadilly?. The controversial bus lane on the A62/Longroyd Bridge should be in full use next week, so this should shave off a couple of mins on peak time services alledgedly.

Probably will make it a one or two minutes slower (depending on traffic), nothing too major, but the 184's at the Greater Manchester end tend to run late anyway, so it won't be noticeable. It'll take longer going out of Oldham towards Manchester than coming into Oldham from Manchester. Any time lost on its way to Manchester will be regained on his way back to Huddersfield, particularly between Grotton, Uppermill and Marsden.
