Network Rail have published a report highlight the delays on the rail network due to the theft of cabling, with over 16,000 hours of delays nationally over the last 3 years. For the Yorkshire region, it is 6,088 hours. The cost of the theft to Network Rail is £3.6m, spending money on replacement the stolen cables and compensating train companies for the delays. www.wymetro.com/news/releases/110510CableTheft

Punishment for cable theft: Repay Network rail costs plus having to meet angry commuters who's journey they disrupted, if they're treated like some staff are by commuters they'll never do it again!
