Plaxton Pointer Step Dart for me. Your kidding me They weren't liked very well, i didn't mind them but many bus spotters don't like Plaxton Dart's. They did look nice when they were new in 1996.

And they were still good runners a year ago when the final ones came out of service with Eastern Counties at the end of 2010 IIRC.

Step Darts are twice as better than the Low Floor ones and that is from an operator that runs them point of view!

Older step darts (H, K and J reg) were far better though than later ones such as M and N etc in terms of power. Very good accelerators.

HJC had N413 MBW from Stagecoach and that was a rocket, it could do 60 easily and had fast acceleration off the line. RIP

Would people ever say the VRT was a Leeds legend ? It did have a few years Yorkshire Rider Leeds service up until 1995.

VRT's were based at Leeds, Wakefield and York.
Unsure if Bradford, Huddersfield or Halifax had any ?

Bradford did have some VRTs 733-736,741,743-746,748,755 and 765 from 1990-1992. Hailfax never had them and only VRTs that were to the best of my knowledge based in Huddersfield would have been Yorkshire Traction ones at Waterloo

Nothing against Leeds Atlanteans but how can the Atlantean be a legend in Leeds when some operators were already thinking about recertifing some of their initial purchases when Leeds started to take delivery of their first ones!

Roe bodied Atlanteans formed the mainstay of Leeds decker fleet, And were pretty much unique to leeds in particular and West Yorkshire in general. However other buses in this poll such as, MCW Metrobus, Dennis Dart, Leyland Olympian, Leyland National, Alexander Striders etc, etc, can all be found in sizeable quantities in any fleet, anywhere in the land. Thats what makes the Atlantean a legend in Leeds. I dont think the Atlantean is a better bus than any other in the list, Just the fact that its exclusivity to our region qualifies it to legendary status.

The smart Roe bodied rear entrance AEC, Daimler and Leyland 'deckers bought (in near enough) equal quantity batches over the years and they are not listed above.
