I could put this in the United Ripon thread, but then it is going off on a massive tangent. Does anyone have any info on routes that operated from Thirsk up to about the turn of the century? From what I've gleamed from websites, photos, out-of-date bus stop cases etc... UnitedDepot somewhere in Thirsk. 56? Thirsk- Bagby- Coxwold- Helmsley 57 Thirsk- Dalton- Carlton Husthwaite- Raskelf- Easingwold Was there a 58? I spoke to someone last year who mentioned West Yorks, Pullman & Reliance running to Easingwold but not Smiths or United 59 Thirsk- Thirkleby?- Coxwold- Oulston- Easingwold 70 & 150 to Ripon as current route Thirsk town services? West Yorkshire80 Thirsk- Easingwold- York - current 58? Stephensons31X - 1 return journey Thirsk- Dalton- Easingwold- York departing around 6am, evening return 57 - was this renumbered to 31X, an additional route via Dalton or shadowing Smiths 58? Any light would be greatfully soaked up!!

Rider York ran the 30 York to Easingwold up until 2001 normally using full sized single decker's with the occasional Olympian.

So was it just the 40 that Reliance ran up to Helmsley then? That route must have been very circuitous, did it avoid Eastmoor?
Edit - Rider York had become First York by 2001 and I don't remember ever seeing a First bus in Easingwold. How often did it run?

Never travelled on it to be fair. I remember Glenn Coaches once thinking of York - Easingwold services in 1998 but the owner decided to sell up to First.
