Apart from the early Products and the Delta's howcome they had mass orders from Leeds in the 90's such as more Delta's and maybe Spectra's. I would of thought back then Yorkshire Rider would of wanted to of supported a local business.

Are you asking why Yorkshire Rider didn't buy Optare products apart from the 5 Deltas in 1990 and the Citypacers?(Apart from those ordered by Metrobus) Probably because when you look at it, no full size bus was bought between 1986 and 1990. They were busy selling off some stock such as recently bought Olympians. After 1990, I dont think Optare offered a double deck option which was the main order through to the acquision of YR in 1994 by Badgerline.

The Spectra was available from 1991 onwards.

Maybe cos they were loyal to Leyland for double deckers?

Maybe if they had not been bought by Badgerline more Optare products would probably have been and if Volvo had decided not to continue Olympian production after buying Leyland then maybe Spectras would have enter YR service

If only Stagecoach had bought Yorkshire Rider, things would of been more interesting and maybe some of Leeds old buses like the Striders would still be about.

Stagecoach will have seen potentail with the operation and they would, imo, gone earlier then they did. Enviro's/Trident's would of been the normal sight in leeds. So you can't really win gemini v Enviro/Trident 2s'.

I suggest you take a trip to Manchester Besides Magic Bus, 99.9% of all Stagecoach buses you will see in Manchester City Centre will be Enviro 400s. First provide much more variety here. They definally wouldn't still be running Striders.
