I was on this train (the 16:12 from Skipton, ex Carlisle). Something hit low down, the carriage in which I was seated and other debris pelted the rest of the train (sounded like pebbles hitting it), but we continued on to Steeton & Silsden and there halted for about 10 minutes whilst the train was inspected for damage. It seems there was a railway worker on board at the time and he was able to inspect the unit. I was not aware of any glass breaking.
A lady immediately in front of me witnessed the explosion; I, on the other hand, had my head in a book!
When we arrived at Leeds the conductor simply apologised for the late running of the service!
