I guess the hybrids must be arriving in Leeds soon as I've just had an email to ask me to complete a survey on the naming of these buses.
I don't know whether the new name will form part of the livery, branding or just be for publicity but the choices given weren't great. About six choices were given such as Dynamo, Pure, ECO2 and Hybrid and you had to pick your three favorites.
Carrot for filling in such survey was the chance to win a First Month ticket.

So is this a general brand name for the batch of buses and whatever corridor they will go on rather than what Arriva have done with numerous batches of buses?

I wonder if there's any intention to increase the 35/45 and 71 routes back to every 10 minutes all day? If not there'll be a lot of dead time for these new buses.
I went to do the survey and to be honest Hybrid is the only sensible option really as this is a term that is already familiar and understood to most people. Seems like a strange survey to do?!

On a similar topic, I think the 35 & 45 should become part of the Peach Line. It seems bad having such flagship routes being shown only in the 'other services' grey line listings.
There are other services such as the 33/33A and in particular the 5 that have lower frequency outer ends.

The 71 should be put back to every 10 mins as should the X84 back to every 15 mins, the 18/19/19A back to every 20 mins on Ireland Wood/Tinshill, the 33/33A restored to every 20 mins on each route and the 51 and 56 back to every 7-8 mins. In order to fend off competition from Yorkshire Line and to improve reliability. The 71 is often overcrowded so at least these new deckers will solve that, are they expected next month?

I've seen 71s at around 7.45 and not one has been overly busy.

In order to fend off competition from Yorkshire Line I want Yorkshire Line to win.

In order to fend off competition from Yorkshire Line I want Yorkshire Line to win. 2nd that! But first will compete brilliantly, but then once (if which i hope they don't) win the battle, they will cut these services!

I agree too! Most times I've been on the 71 and I stress the 71 alone i.e. not the 35/45/48/X35 along Scott Hall Road it has been full and standing, admittedly most of the time I've been on it was during the 1500-1800 period.
