Yesterday (Saturday 10/11/07) J&B Travel had some of their Alexander Royales filmed by the BBC for 'Songs of Praise'. The buses where taking people to a church on Bridge Street in Leeds, just off Eastgate roundabout. I am not sure when this will be aired.
Does anybody else know of buses in West Yorkshire which will be appearing on TV?

Your right about A Touch of Frost, new Volvo B9 YJ57 BEU has a rear side advert (nearside) with David Jason on there.

I watched the 2006 film 'Mischief Night', which is filmed in Leeds and noticed they use a First Leeds Volvo Olympian Alexander Royale as a school bus in the movie. Didn't notice which one it was though.

Not Yorkshire related but the new Walkers advert features a bus.
Gary Linekar is taking off Cliff Richard from 'Summer Holiday' with his Routemaster - yes, it is a Routemaster. A trio of musicians on the upper deck get a surprise when Linekar is distracted by crisps and drives the bus under a low bridge taking the roof clean off.

Oh that Gary Lineker is so funny, how he loves his crisps. (Not to mention his pay checks from PepsiCo). Anyway the full event can, if desired, be viewed @ youtube.com/watch?v=C1Rl_nbt6Fo.

I remember the comedy-drama series 'Jane Hall', which aired in summer 2006 on ITV. The 6-part series was about a young woman who decides to become a London Bus Driver! Shame it only lasted one series.

I remember that series, I watched it! She drove F12-PHM Alexander RV , I can't remember which one exactly. I remember because Geldards have F123/29/30/31PHM. Wasn't a bad series that, I don't know what happened to the main bus afterwards.

Arriva buses used on touch of frost tonight were Spectra 706 and ALX 470. Other buses Pointers and Spectras and the Red West Yorkshire National were in the background. Arriva were known as "Arrobus" for one night only! This will be due to Copyright, advertising and stuff. Belle Isle Depot and Wakefield bus station were scenes. Good to show buses on telly from our part of the country I was like I've been on that bus and I've been to that depot!! it was great .

Loved the episode and was great to see the Spectra used for the scene filmed out in the countryside.

The new series of Top Gear has started, and from the previews of what's to come they seem to be destroying a few buses. From the looks of it, the lads engage a sport of bus racing. Some of the buses look like they were from abroad, though I saw a 'GB Coaches' Dennis Dart and a ex Stagecoach Manchester training vehicle, a GM Standard Atlantean (as in the photo below) dwb.busphotos.fotopic.net/p47125166.htmlSorry but I can't identify either vehicles. I will be watching out for that show though!

I saw that on top gear. When last series ended I emailed the BBC asking if the lads could do a challenge involving buses and emailed me back saying thanks for the suggestions and watch this space, maybe they read my mail and decided to do something different this series rather than using old cars all the time!!! this week was trucks next week trucks maybe week after will be the buses!!!!
