Whats everyones plans for the run upto and during the festive period? I've just finished my shopping in Tesco! Got to work all week until Friday aft then its off to the club for a few sherberts with the family. Christmas day, i'll no doubt be doing the rounds between the family homes in the morning. Then its down to my Aunty & Uncle's for the full works, via a pub Boxing day was traditionally for me a day to play with the toys, but seen as i'll be 20 in a few days time, i think i'm abit past that. So the Grandma is throwing a little get together for a few drinks and abit of food in celebration for christmas and my birthday! 27th will be the day of rest i think. 28th I turn 20! So its to town early doors (3ish) for a few beers in the Wetherspoons in Leeds. If you're passing come buy me a beer and then its partying into the night! Unsure from then on in, or if i'll be alive

I'm working Christmas Eve... I'm getting a car as a late present in the new year sometime & I don't drink so I can't do much on Christmas Day, it's a case of sat in home watching films etc. & having the traditional lunch like everyone else no doubt will be, then back to work on a very busy Boxing Day at Comet while my mum goes to Leeds shopping (with the thanks to the Boxing day bus services. lol)

I'd rather pay for the car myself and let them pay the insurance I'm hoping for insurance under £1k next year!

My insurance is going to be about £3,500 & I've got to pay for it myself. It might come down after Christmas though.

Do your pass plus and that'll drop the cost by about £400. Dont go through online market comparers. Go direct and use Top cash back to get money back from the purchase. I know of people who got upto £200 back from theirs. The topcashback link is a link to say i recommended you!

I'm going to do my Pass Plus soon, I am getting my quotes with "Pass Plus obtained" ticked. I am looking at a 1.0 Toyota Aygo. Even on places like Young Marmalade that reckon to half the price by fitting a tracker are still about £3,000

Get a cheap, clapped out car that isn't expensive to repair or scrap if you have a prang. I paid £600 for my first car, insurance was treble that. Was only looking at £3000 when trying to insure on my Dad's 1.4 Focus!

Run up to Christmas? Normal working week Bus driver gave me a knowing look when I bought a week rider last saturday. He laughed and said "Christmas eve is just another friday!" Man I do miss being a kid. As for after Christmas, do christmassy stuff with family. Can't get out of working but it wont stop me enjoying Xmas & New Year! (new years day hangovers + work... at least its a quiet day)!
