News on the Arriva Yorkshire Facebook page about some fares being increased in the new year. Single fares: The £1.40, £1.60, £1.70, £2, £2.20, £2.50 and £2.70 fares are being increased by 10p. The 80p, £1.10, £1.20 and £1.30 fares remain unchanged. Day tickets: The West Yorkshire ticket is going up from £4 to £4.20 (still cheaper than First) and the Arriva Yorkshire ticket is going up from £4.70 to £5. Weekly tickets: The West Yorkshire ticket remains at £16, while the Yorkshire ticket goes up from £19 to £20. 4 Weekly tickets: Unchanged at £60 for West Yorkshire and £70 for Yorkshire. www.facebook.com/arrivainyorkshire?v=app_2373072738#!/topic.php?uid=112445807268&topic=15123

Is that rise due to the increasing VAT rates, that happen at the same time.

Is that rise due to the increasing VAT rates, that happen at the same time. VAT isn't charged on bus or rail fares.

Is that rise due to the increasing VAT rates, that happen at the same time. VAT isn't charged on bus or rail fares. But on fuels, parts and 99% of the supplies in their depots & offices.
