Hulley's Of baslow if that ever gets sold. Reason : Stagecoach will stick them selfs into Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and have competition with First SY on the 272 which i bet Stagecoach would enjoy. One problem Hulley's seems far too small for a big company but its a suggestion

I wouldn't say there is competition on the 272. Hulleys run in the hours that First do not in an arrangement dating back some years

I might be a long way off target here - but my 'crystal ball' sees Stagecoach Yorkshire creeping into Leeds with a few routes and establishing themselves before the introduction of Quality Contracts. They only need to duplicate First's routes (any overground) and introduce genuine competition like they have in Sheffield.

They had Terrier's existing market in Sheffield and services out to Barnsley/Chesterfield though, in Leeds they would have to start from scratch and the interurban buses are operated by First and Arriva

Hulleys run in the hours that First do not in an arrangement dating back some years Indeed and from memory this arrangement goes back to Mainline days, its been in place (albeit with different times from Mainline/ First) since the early 90s, Hulleys and First also accept each others tickets on said route so no real competition at all.

When QC's are introduced in WY expect to see Abellio, Comfort Del-Gro, Veolia, Transdev, RATP, Centrebus, Rotala & CT Plus as the main contenders besides First & Arriva. Stagecoach are not interested, they will probably run a mile!

I'm surprised they havent got any public routes in the region yet.

CT Plus by virtue of being a Social Enterprise will stear clear of commercial operations, but if tenders for marginal routes are on the table I wouldn't be surprised to see them bid.

EYMS, that way they can dominate Hull and rest of East Yorkshire. Or how about Blackpool Transport. Imagine Stagecoach 1930's trams.

Both would be rejected by CC

Stagecoach could buy Tate's Travel, Go Goodwins, CountryLiner, and even Newport Transport if privatised.
