Just to point out that this Friday, Transdev Metro and Bus Users UK have teamed up to hold a surgery in Keighley Bus Station so bus users can voice their opinions on bus services: www.keighleybus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=194

Notice the Zone Bus repaints are on hold? I hear they want to retain some of the B10's to replace the darts as are becoming problematic. Also K&D did hack the frequencies down on both routes from every 20 to every 30 minutes.

What's up with the Darts? They wouldn't be able to replace too many Darts as the larger buses would be problematic on other routes such as 708, 710 and would be wasted on routes like 711, 715 and 716

The Darts are unreliable, need new axles regularly and gearboxes are starting to go. They struggle with the hills and the suspension is a bit poor. They were made by Transbus weeks before they collapsed so didn't get any kind of waranty - and would imagine would have been cheaply made if the workers knew they may be laid off imminently (did that not happen at ROE?) B10's would probably go on Braithwaite 702/3, Thwaites Brow 704/5, Fell Lane 706. 708/10/11/15/16 would need a smaller bus so could use the repainted ones for those.

B10's were cleared for use about a year ago, i only know of one working them once about Xmas time last year. White lines have been painted opposite Morton Terminus so they can swing out, the section between Bingley & Wilsden has First B10's operating it, the section from Bingley to Cullingworth is a wide enough road. The reason it doesn't happen often is they inter-work with the 720, the B10's would struggle through Spring Bank & Harewood Road. With a bit of careful diagramming, the Darts could do 708/715/720 (3), 710 (1), 711/716 (1) 78A (2) total 7. B10's for 702/3 (2) 704/5 (1), 706 (1), 727 (2) total 6. This is in theory at the moment. The withdrawn B10's were supposed to be for possible MyBus conversion so anything could happen yet!

That would make a lot of sense, although wouldn't it mean some routes could lose their wheelchair accessibility?

Yeah, i assume they would refurbish any X reg they intend to keep. There is a new leaflet out for 500/663/4/5 saying from January they will use Wheelchair accessible vehicles after they upgrade the fleet - must be confident the X reg's wont be used on there by then (yeah right!).

I've actually taken a wheelchair on one of those b10s by mistake (thought the gap was small at the time but didn't think it wasn't for wheelchairs), don't think the driver even knew that it wasn't supposed to take them as I didn't get told otherwise and was allowed to travel into Haworth from Stanbury.

I got told they can carry them at drivers discretion.

I got told they can carry them at drivers discretion. Would make sense as I've seen wheelchairs on a couple of times in the past. Have also seen wheelchairs board the newer B10s with the ramps without the ramp being put down

We were told they could not be carried - then they said we could (after complaints from customers in wheelchairs). So as long as they can get on without assistance from the driver, and the chair fits without blocking the gangway then are allowed.
