With this event being this up coming weekend are any members planning on paying a visit to elland road. Change of plan regarding the vehicle i will be taking, it now going to be Scania omindekka 15412 (YN54VKB) and its going to be operating the first free shuttle services from leeds centre down to elland road. Above 70 vehicles due to attend, so should make for a good day out.

This does sound like it will be the best bus rally held in West Yorkshire for many years, hopefully it will be able to rival the size of the Meadowhall rally

There is a departure from Dewsbury @ 9:00 and a return later in the day if it helps anyone. Follow the link for details: www.dewsburybusmuseum.co.uk. I am sure this is particular trip is being operated by Tony Salmon who organises the Arriva tour.

Thanks for a good rally seeing Olympians and a Lynx there made me feel old as I when to school on these buses! Anyway I was glad to see and hear these vehicles as I miss them now they have been replaced. Managed a ride on 5024. I VRT FCA453W broken down on the M621 just a few yards away from Elland Road

Yeah, i really enjoyed today, seeing the ex west yorks buses in the flesh again. K601 HUG looked immaculate. I wish it was back in service now and miss the older buses even more.

Shame some buses didn't make it,like the YEP Atlantean(i mean that didn't have far to come ) would of been nice to see that and 591 side by side and the West Yorkshire-YORK Olympian, the free buses to town and back seemed to be doing well n'all
Wish it would of been held in the car park behind the West Stand if only to keep me out of the LUFC shop!!!
The broken down VR was that the one that was getting towed around the roundabout about 130ish???

Was a great day, highlights being multiple rides on 6294 (PUA 294W), sitting in the cab of 5504 but the funniest bit was 5507 on the White Rose Shuttle. Instead of turning right onto Elland Road and passing the Drysalters, it turned left, headed up the M621/M1 coming off at the turning for WAKEFIELD!, went right round the roundabout, back on to the M1, onto the M62, off at the next junction (Breaking down on the slip road), restarted, down to White Rose, refuelled from a Jerry Can and the obvious route back to Elland Road. Toatl Journey time = about 55 minutes!!!

I thought this event was quite poorly laid out, if you ask me the 2 ex YCL Olympians (HCB & Geldards) were stuffed away in the corner on their own. I also thought that the buses parked next to the club shop were awkwardly placed and should've been down nearer the coach park. If you ask me (like someone else has said) the car park would've been better, despite it's size

Personally, i can't fault the event. The bus picked up very close to the train station and outside the bus/coach stations and were crewed by friendly drivers obviously loving every second! Re: The ex-YCL olympians - Did they get told they couldn't park anywhere else or would it have just been the drivers deciding to park there? From my point of view, i quite liked the fact they were parked away from the rest of the pack as it made them stand out a bit.

Thank you organisers for a good do!!! The 2.05 trip to White Rose on 5507 was scheduled to take that route so that it could have a decent spin on the M1, that was the information given out in advance on one mailing list, and why I chose to go on that run. Personally I think that the Scania Strider was the best of show!

May just be personal preference, but although 8601 was looking magnificent, for me, either 6159 or 6294 were best, although WYRCC Leopard KUB544V was gorgeous too. Where were you sat, Billogs? My fiancee and i were towards the rear of the top deck having a blast!
