From this Sunday (12th September) and every Sunday until December 12th (timetable change time), the Huddersfield Line will be closed every Sunday from the first service of the day until mid-afternoon between Huddersfield and Stalybridge due to engineering work around the Standedge Tunnel. Transpennine Express Services will run half-hourly between Leeds and Manchester with additional service between Leeds and Huddersfield via Dewsbury. From Leeds, one train per hour will call at Huddersfield before continuing to Manchester Victoria then on to Manchester Airport via Piccadilly. The other train will run direct to Manchester Victoria and then onto Liverpool Lime Street (trains to Liverpool will call at Newton-le-Willows instead of Warrington Central due to engineering works there - connecting bus service available between the two stations). From Manchester Victoria, trains won't call at Huddersfield but one train per hour will stop at Dewsbury for connecting service back to Huddersfield. Northern RailNorthern Rail services between Huddersfield and Manchester Victoria will only run between Stalybridge and Manchester with a connecting bus service running between Stalybridge and Huddersfield call at Mossley and Greenfield stations and then at stops on Manchester Road in Marsden (Peel Street junction) and Slaithwaite (Star Inn). Northern Rail's Leeds-Huddersfield service remain unaffected, as does Grand Central's West Riding service. www.wymetro.com/travelnews/trainalerts/1008111050
