B7RLE 69306 is currently at HP being painted into an FTR style livery and apparently will return to York afterwards.
No idea what it's for.

For those of you who use Buses magazine to keep your fleetlists up to date, First Bradford 31812 and 50285 have not been withdrawn yet as I have seen both of these out and about in the last week. In respect of 50285, it had been reported that the whole batch of 53101 to 53106 would be in Bradford. 53101,2,4 & 5 are in service and 53103 was in Bradford but appears to have disappeared again. I have seen no sign of 53106 despite watching out for this all month so maybe 50285 is still covering a problem with either one of these.

Service 4 Acomb - York - University Service 4 is extended to the Heslington East campus of the University of York. Travel is free for everyone within the University (between Wentworth College & Heslington East) Even cheaper travel! £2 return between the University & Rail Station. Available to everyone " just ask your driver or host Service 4U is withdrawn. I suspect then these 2 B7RLE's that have been done could be done to meet the extra Peak Vehicle Requirement and also meaning a spare bus is in place as i can only see 1 extra Bus being needed but maybe then with the other acting as a spare to cover for the FTR's. New timetable: www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/service/Service_4_A4_Display_Panels_as_at_3_Oct_2010.pdfNote the 6 is now revising back to Osbaldwick.

Not surprised but not impressed that as Pullman up their game, First extend their route and slash their prices to match. I just hope that the uni staff and students see through it and realise that if they allow First to bully Pullman off the road, the fares will bounce back up before they can blink.

Asda put their prices lower than tesco in the same area. Tesco are obviously going to react.
I see no difference between what First have done re YP than that in the example above.

I could not agree more, why not have a bit of healthy competition After all people and companies dont get to where they are now just by hanging around doing nothing whilst others take punters.

How about Asda or Tesco lower their prices and more smaller corner shops go out of business, or given the current trend are takenover and re branded...........

Aslong as the right governing bodies are ok with it, i would have no problem. Its a fact of life, its never going to be perfect but thats how it is.

I wouldn't liken bus competition to supermarket competition! The economics of both are very different when you take into account the bus industry is labour intensive where as supermarkets aren't. The supermarket groups are able to sell products at below cost as they don't pay the supplier straight away. Moreover the staple goods like bread and milk are usually the same price wherever you purchase it from Asda, Tesco's or Sainsbury's.

Whilst I agree with what you said, it was a simple way of putting it. Its the same for most business to have competition with your competitors. Why should the likes of First step aside and let Pullman take potential revenue? You'd be cheering if it was Pullman or any independant going alongside First on a route charging less and forcing First off the route or to charge less. First have only done what any business would do.

It has been confirmed as YW04 VAU, I even checked using "MyCarCheck" app on iPhone. Seems strange having a Beverley mark on a First bus. That app comes in handy sometimes. lol

It was orginally registered YJ04 FYA which it has when delivered, do not think it ran in service using this mark. Wonder if that mark been allocated to another vehicle.
