They'll get some ALX400s before long, dont worry. I can see the hills clogged with endless traffic hold ups, and all because of slow ALX 400s! There must be money somewhere to re-power these slow on hills toilets. Good god is that a funeral procession I see overtaking one of them followed by a snail?

Dont really know where to post this but does anyone else know anymore on what was said about the Leeds FTR's moving across the York and the Merc's moving to Leeds? Ass ive noted few of the FTR's in York doing more Pilot Training so didnt know if something might be happening. I must admit im taking the movement of the FTR's etc... as a pinch of salt but with the recent movement of the B10LA's could it be a start though of further movements?

Personally I've noticed the FTRs getting used less and less in Leeds and perhaps York could be looking to improve the current park and ride network using more bendi buses such as Leeds FTRs. A lot of park and ride buses are very full so perhaps could they be improvements to frequency? Can't see York wanting rid of the mercs.

Dont FWY - Leeds have a contract with Leeds City Council (just like they do in York) with the FTRs? Personally, i cant see the transfer happening. The Mercs were acquired as an improvement to the B10LAs. This is a big step up and improvment in the park and ride scheme in itself. IMO the FTRs will be taking a step back.

I don't think the Monks Cross and Designer Outlet sites can accomodate bendibuses, so they wouldn't need more.
I can't see York City Council agreeing to it. First won the contract based on what was provided. If they don't want to provide this, the contract would need to be ripped up and retendered.

G547, if you read earlier you asked if any low floor buses were coming to try & make Halifax low floor! or help! IF you read Kendall's post, he said you will get some LOVELY washing machines soon!
And Kendall, the hybrid's i am PRESUMING these will be used on the 1 route, as the ALX400 are mainly dominant on there!

I never saw that post, I was looking for the word ALX400 but couldn't find it. I love ALX400's so I don't know how you can call them washing machines, I'd say stuff like E200's & Primo's are classed as Washing machines because of their engine that is as quiet as a washer. LOL

LOL By washing machine's, i don't mean bright & shiny ones. I mean the one that we've all had, that's just about on it's last leg's, could be repaired but is pointless! So ALX400=OLD washing machine that makes alot of noise! believe me, you will hear it on a morning screaming up a hill. I can hear them on otley road on there way to Holt Park between 6-7 starting their 1 duties!

That's what I like about them, they are loud. 37052 was the loudest "hoover" I had heard when it first arrived in Halifax going past my window on the 576 every morning to wake me up. lol (Then when I get up I have Gardner to KEEP me awake)

I've certainly seen 37056 & 37059 this week and just don't understand this suggested movement. Low floor buses appear to be short at Bradford at the moment with Olympians out on various routes every day. If these four vehicles go, Bradford will surely need four low floor replacements. I had seen somewhere that 66995 to 66998 were possibly due to leave Leeds, I suppose this could be a straight swap. although they, or others, will also need to have guide wheels fitted.

It doesn't look now as though this is happening, yet anyway. 66995-8 are said to be leaving but not sure they'll go to Bradford as Devon & Cornwall has been mentioned. Until it happens though I wouldn't read too much into it. I hear rumours & hearsay every other day but don't usually bother mentioning them here. The above though were from a good authority so I thought i'd put it on here. Gives us something to talk about anyway.

Dont quite get what you mean when you say the recently transferred eclipses 69306-309 have replaced existing eclipses 66743/53 and another one. Do you mean they have been withdrawn or transferred away?.

I went to Chester today to have a look at the B7RLEs now in service on the Blacon Pointer QP routes. I noticed some still had their Leeds Simple Fares posters in the frames behind the drivers cabs and adverts for Joseph Priestly College unless they are now taking students from the Cheshire area . (I know the latter won't be down to First, but the advertising contractor).
