Now why don't First consider restoring this link with a Leeds to Rothwell service, perhaps even just using one bus on an hourly off-peak duty. They could number it, erm, the 7 maybe. And it would go some way to making up for the number of recent PR disasters they have been throwing themselves into...

Given that they're just about to stop running the 8, 15, 31, 32, some 38's, 63 and 757, plus less buses on the 90, surely there's a possibility to run new services, particularly to areas they're currently not serving, like Rothwell, with the 7.

They won't do that. Don't know why. They have pretty much got the main corridor/money makers secure especially headingley which is very unfortunate for the consumers! they keep raising fares, and we can't even use a different operator. Wouldn't mind if i could see first spending money on the buses, but they don't (which is a different subject all together).
PLEASE CENTREBUS HELP!
Anyway, they could do with a route, following the 110, then calling into rothwell, back out and onto the 110 route. Would run every 20 minutes to begin with, am sure they could pinch a few customer's from arriva. BUT, its first, so crap buses/high fares versus Nicer buses/cheaper fares on arriva, i know which i would go for.

The large numbers of 09, 10 plate vehicles in the First fleet in Leeds are 'crap' now are they?
If you think they are, then why do you keep suggesting that First should extend into Arriva's area of operation?

First is currently intent on contraction across the UK until the company eventually disappears from what I can see! V rare to see a totally new route from First nowadays unless it is to attack another operator e.g. X64!!!

Can I ask what the difference is between the 443 and the 444? I know they went along different routes on the old Barnsley-Wakefield section but thought the other part of the routes were similar? Not sure if I've misunderstood you but the 443 doesn't run north of Wakefield any more. It was partly replaced by rerouting of the 446.

I meant when the 443/44 both were operating between Leeds and Wakefield, I was under the impression the routes were almost identical.

Surely there's a possibility to run new services, particularly to areas they're currently not serving, like Rothwell, with the 7. They do operate in Rothwell but the service (The 8 or 9) doesn't go to Leeds and if you want to travel to Leeds then it involves changing at White Rose, Cross Gates, Seacroft, etc. I'm surprised that there isn't a "7" linking the places on the Outer Circle routes (Rothwell's a good example) to the City Centre. I had an idea of something like this: 10 = Leeds - Hunslet - Rothwell (Haigh Road) - Woodlesford - Rothwell (Marsh Street) - Middleton - White Rose - Beeston - Leeds 10A = Leeds - Beeston - White Rose - Middleton - Rotherwell (Marsh Street) - Woodlesford - Rothwell (Haigh Road) - Hunslet - Leeds Both every hour/every 30 mins combined, no harm in trying and seeing how it goes.....
