Well the title explains it all.
If first are planning on keeping these in the fleet around the Yorkshire area, then investment is needed. Currently doors (when they open and close) make my ears bleed with the cheap looking metal first has put on them at the bottom (to stop muck getting in when moving) which makes an AWFUL racket. The seats (apart from about 3 ALX400), are like sitting on metal, i might as well be sat on metal.
Is there any plans on getting these upgraded to Wright seating (like the fellow 3 ALX400) to make the journey more bearable.

Given their age, they could do with a refresh inside - maybe newer style seats and a proper deep clean. However, I think besides their irritatingly loud fans, they have been a good bus and considering how intensively used they are, they haven't done bad.

I agree, i mean the majority where used on the 16, 40/50/50A boards, 56, Scott Halls, where they used on the Red/Blue line routes as well, but now they have come to that stage, where first either need to invest or send elsewhere (where they will still receive a refurb) - perhaps down to Cornwall and Devon.

Yes, Bench seats like Dublin Bus have in most of their buses like Enviro400's & ALX400's - Would be good if First Group ordered bench seats as standard!

First seats are by far the worst but otherwise the ALX's are good buses.
Mind you, that front dash always reminds me of a Blackpool tram...

I prefer Arriva's actually, at least those one's have decent seating with the exception of 31143-7.
