Go-Ahead has bought Norfolk independent, Konnectbus of Dereham. It currently has an operating license of 35 vehicles.

KonectBus must have grown as Buses magazine described it as a 45-bus operation. Although Ipswich Council have pulled out of talks to sell a stake to Go-Ahead, I still think this could be a springboard to further expansion by GA in the area, with operators like Anglian, Norfolk Green and Hedingham springing to mind.

I don't think there was the right market to provide a quality service to differentiate from National Express. NX were the dominant player and Go-Ahead prefers areas that have self-contained networks without a huge competitive threat.
