Well as long as they are happy for the bus to depart late, whilst the driver does all the high viz rigmarole and only have 5 minutes between trips. And another chance for heckling from passengers for arriving on the departure stand late!

well, those are the things that drivers are complaining about happening under the new rule! Talking about some Huddersfield drivers who start at around 5am and don't finish their shift until 10am/10.30am (such as the 184 to Manchester and back). Does explain why some Huddersfield drivers rush off to the toilets at Oldham bus station.

What about Batley Bus Station they have a Toilet on Stand A (one at exit) that is for Driver's only. Do they have to park the bus up cos most buses go there along their routes. Can see this happening a bus full of passengers on 229 to Hudds/Leeds or chavs on 281-3. The driver saying everybody off here and wait while I nip to the loo. Park the bus get Hi-Vis on then go to loo and go back get the bus and pick passengers up again!!!!!!!!!!! At the mo the drivers just leaves the bus parked up on stand full of passengers and goes to loo, some of them leave engines runing and some with doors open. haha

I think that Metro are annoyed that drivers are leaving their bus on stand when another bus wants to pick up/drop off from it. Especially those that want to go lay over and will just use any stand.

One soloution to the problem is for Metro to put a portaloo up next to the lay over bays and to allow buses with passengers on to park there providing doors are kept closed. The cost of the portaloo's as well as running them could be recovered by charging drivers for using them.

Have you really thought this one through? Would you be happy to pay to use the toilet at your place of work?.
