The Metro website has said for some time that the details of all Christmas, New Years and Boxing Day services will be published there today.
Only four hours of today left and I would image they have all gone home for the day. Nice to see that it is not just the operators who are guilty of running late!!
Am looking forward to seeing the plans for my local 760 route this year, hope it's going to be run by First Leeds on Boxing Day again.

Judging at the times of the buses, the 503 will continue as the 508 from Halifax to Leeds and vice-versa.

Of note the 40 will be Leeds to Seacroft only and interwork with the 50/50A as it used to. I guess the West Leeds section is sufficiently covered by the 72 and 4 to Pudsey.

I can't believe it, I boarded the bus with my mum today to do some Boxing Day shopping and I got on the bus in Halifax and said "2 Day tickets please" so what did he do... he printed out 2 £4 First Day's so after seeing my £2 change I read the ticket and it said First Day so I went and told the driver about the £3 ones and he didn't have a clue, he said "I've been on holiday and I don't know about them, I haven't been told" so we let it go. When we got back to getting on the bus in Leeds 32509 with an Halifax driver arrived and we showed our ticket and the driver said "We don't accept any day tickets, all we are doing is flat fare's of £1 for Children and £2 for adults and everyone started having a go at him then he said to us "You 2 are alright because you have £4 ones" but charged everyone else with £3 ones the flat fare of £2 or £1 for half fare. I think some sorting out needs doing next year!

I think some sorting out needs doing next year! Have bus drivers never heard of reading the staff notice board? The communications book at my place of work is a mandatory must see. Failure to do so results in muck ups, which then leads to justified warnings. 'I haven't a clue, I've been on holiday' should result in 'I haven't a clue, I should resign immediately cos I can't do my job properly'. The final wage of this idiot should have the money he overcharged passengers by deducted from it and refunded to all those who complain.

The Day tickets were meant to be £3 with a free child but they were saying we don't do any Day ticket, just a flat fare of £2

WYITA have published a route on the performance of the Boxing Day services. From it, it said that Leeds services (93% cost recovery) were more popular than the Huddersfield services (65%). The most successful services in Leeds were the cross-city services (1, 2, 3, 3A, 4, 12, 13, 13A, 16, 16A, 18, 42, 49, 50, 50A, 51, 55, 56) plus the 110 and 202/203, while Huddersfield Bus's 81/82 services also did well. The poorer performing services include the 444 between Leeds, Rothwell and Wakefield and the 760 between Shipley and Leeds. www.wyita.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/88834690-A147-4541-9B0A-9BFDF61DE4E3/0/TSWG3MARCH2010ITEM6.pdf

Metro have also announced that it is quite likely that this year will be the last for Boxing Day services as budgets won't be able to run to something that is nice to have rather than being essential.
They also hope, operators may run them commercially, but we all know how likely that is.

Details of Boxing Day (plus other days of Christmas) services will be announced on the Metro website in mid-December, according to their website. Would have thought the December Changing Times booklet would be an ideal time though.

They won't open up a garage for ONE service only so i think there maybe more to come.

The Airport 757 bus normally operates so that makes 2 routes at least. Still though it wouldn't be a massive surprise if Metro chooses Centrebus to run some of First's routes perhaps.

Metro website has a list of Boxing Day services with timetables being finalised. With 508 now having it's new route, this will lead to the unusual sight of a First Huddersfield bus running in Kirkstall

its more likely that this 508 service will be run by clippys so they probably won't tell difference between halifax and huddersfield buses.

As enthusiasts though, it will be strange seeing a Huddersfield bus in Leeds & surrounding areas, it was strange seeing 363 branded Gemini's on the Headrow last boxing day.
