A date for your diaries Sunday 8th November
Breaking news is that the bus which will be proving the free shuttle from Dewsbury Bus Station will hopefully be 1500, the pre-production low height Gemini.
This is subject at the moment to the bus being taxed, it isn't at the moment and available. Availability is subject to any demonstration duties.

I liked the event, it would have been better if K4 YCL would have done the shuttles to the Bus Station though.

I'll pass it on, in future where possible can the guest buses run a couple of the shuttle runs. I think Adam did a run with his Lynx, I know he wasn't there too long. Richard was initially hoping to have the HBC new Solo but it was wanted for a contract - I think.

What Contract is this has HBC don't open on a Sunday, Dewsbury and Wakefield do the services which run on a Sunday?

They do open on a Sunday as they run the Denby Dale Services, there depot is in open ground anyway that's probably why they brought 804 out.

Oh right thanks, well it would make sense to use a solo on them services rather than a Centro on a sunday.

Yes it would be better if there was about 5-10 buses that visit the event from Private owners and do trips all day to make it more like a small bus rally than an open day to draw in more visitors.

I think the event was great. The shuttle was well run and the stalls had a vast array of things to tempt the money out my wallet (the stalls won) Yes it would be better if there was about 5-10 buses that visit the event from Private owners and do trips all day to make it more like a small bus rally than an open day to draw in more visitors. I think your idea of having more buses, ether on display or operating the shuttle, would surly be more of a problem then a help to the museum. I could be wrong but from what I saw the museum has limited space available to it. The number of buses there seemed to take up a good deal of space and adding to that could create a few problems. Did anyone go, if so any comments and I will pass them on to the Committee I went along, and had a look round. I was disappointed that the low height Gemini was not available. Enjoyed a mystery tour on 733. Also pleased to see that there is slow progress on the Wulfrunian. Anyone know any thing about the one which used to be at the Black Country Museum? It would be good if there were a few more visiting vehicles.

UCX 275 is stored at Estrick, not sure if it is still a runner.

David.c We are exploring the possibility of being able to use some other space near by as well for the next open day

Space and Access is a problem at the site but we are exploring a other options to have more visiting buses. The site is not really suitable for a small rally but other options are being explored

I was wondering where buses wud park when there is a open day there. Noticed Tony swapped buses over at Dewsbury Bus Station i.e 29 parked up in layover bay when 1066 was running the swapped after.

That works OK when Arriva buses are involved, not sure we could do that with any other buses, OK to go in and out but not for laying over
