Following the continuing one-day strikes by First Manchester drivers in Bolton, Bury and Wigan, and by drivers at First Essex, plus proposed strikes by First South Yorkshire being suspended, there are reports that First West Yorkshire drivers have been balloted about pay and it could be possible that they follow suit and go on strike. www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=19258

The 184 is a joint service between Huddersfield and Manchester so will it be reduced on strike days?

No probably not, it will be fully operated by Huddersfield and they might loan some buses from Manchester if they are short. (Royale's on the 184!!!!)

Oldham depot isn't on strike. The dispute only affects Wigan, Bolton and Bury depots with Queens Road and Oldham being business as usual.

Yeah, Bolton, Bury and Wigan (or First Manchester West, as I think I saw it got called once) are on strike and have been striking on Mondays for the last 5 weeks or so and will be again this Monday. Oldham, Queens Road and Tameside (or First Manchester East) aren't striking and are running normal services. Here's a list of First Manchester services affected: www.firstgroup.com/service_disruptions/Service_list_26th_October_2009.pdf

If FWY do go on strike , i guess they can just bring out the 2006 First Leeds strike Timetable and re-use it again for purposes.

I have a question about strikes. FWY is one company so when there a strike or threat of one in yets say Bradford there is never any in Halifax,Leeds or Huddersfield ?

The strike could be due to an issue that only effects pay, conditions or someother issue at only one depot

If one depot at FWY did go on strike, it'll be similar to what it's like at First Manchester. 3 depots are on strike, 3 are running normally. So, for example, if Bradford depot did go on strike, then only the 363, 576 and X11 would run, as they are run from other depots.

The X11 might not as when i went on it last week it was a Bradford B10BLE/Wright working it. Also the 570 and 571 would still run as it is still Halifax vehicles operating these.
