Selby's B10's 102,3,4,6 and 7 will be moving to Castleford and Castleford's ALX's 651,2,3,4 and 6 will move to Selby. This has already started to happen.

Why are these buses swapping around when it will mean more cramping on a single deck now if these appear on any Leeds runs or peak journeys. And selby will end up with buses stuck under bridges! What is the logic behind these transfers. Surely they don't need more deckers when they get the Geminis.

What is the logic behind these transfers. Surely they don't need more deckers when they get the Geminis. Castleford only require deckers for the Wakefield Corridor 184/5/9 plus the interworking on 408/910/20/30 That requires 24 the 10 Spectra's and the remaining ALX400's The other Castleford routes have recently only seen single deck allocations, hence since the arrival Tempos Castleford had too many deckers. This change makes operational sense, only question is why only 5 and not all 7 Renowns

The reason for the swap is mainly to do with school runs as all of selby's school runs require Double deck buses. At the moment when any of the D/D buses are either in for repair or worst then it only leaves the B10's which are not big enough, these changes will help the inspectors.
Its 5 Renowns that are going to Cas, 108 & 109 are staying at Selby because we have just paid for them to be repainted.

I WAS gonna mention this but thought this bus was passing by thru Birstall Retail Park. Never thought although I did wonder why was over here. I saw this on Wednesday afternoon rushing thru. As it appears to head into Leeds to start on the rush hour service.

It seems Spectra 638 has moved to Heckmondwike as it was on the 229 all day yesterday Was this swapped for 457 which had spent time at Heckmondwike but was back in Wakefield last week. It seems strange to send a non-easy access/low floor bus when Heckmondwike is almost 100% low lfoor. I think it could only be regarded as a true Heckmondwike bus once it receives a full set of wheel trims

Castleford have fitted what looks like a Bri-tec led screen to 107 ex-Selby.
Pity they couldn't find any black paint to finish the job off before placing the bus back in service.
Interesting in that they have converted an electronic roller blind bus, yet a number of the ALX400's there still have manual blinds. Surely Selby don't want their blinds back for their new buses!!!!!!!!!!

Could each Yorkshire depot be getting 3/4/5 of these to share the pain. Not sure what Dewsbury would do with any of them but I'm the others could fine some suitable duties for what would be less than an handful each. Otherwise certain Belle Isle routes will not be fully converted to low floor buses for a good while yet!

Seems very strange to have them seats (Urban90) then again W reg seems to be roughly the same times as the preds as they were X regs it was after these they changed seats to more comfy ones like on the Spectras.

Belle Isle ALX300 445 was seen working out of Castleford today.
Anyone know if this is a one-off or is it in exchange for either 443 or 450 which have been a Castleford for a while now?

This might explain why Heckmondwike is having to borrow buses with at least 2 of the 4 East Lancs Volvos 517 above and 519 having left for pastures new. Anyone seen 520 and 521 recently?

Surely Hecky can't keep borrowing buses from other depots... If all the East Lancs have gone like timlesstable said they will be struggling to meet there PVR so I'm assuming Hecky will get some buses from other depots to replace the East Lancs?

I would expect some being borrowed in the short term until all the VDL Geminis scheduled for Selby arrive then the next batch of depot transfers start.

maybe thats why one of the Northern Counties Olympian (621-3) was there few months back to see if they can run ok. Could they end up here surely can't get any more single decks especially for peak time runs. Or maybe will get the other half of the Presidents be good then all together!
