Its good news for everyone, excepting DSA, which seems to be stuck in the doldrums!

DSA has a long runway, but how many aircraft ever need to use the maximum runway length? DSA, it was forecast at the time of a Public Enquiry, would have difficulties in establishing itself...which , so far, has been the case. Sheffields, small, business airport was closed because the land could be acquired by developers for a pound and the City was promised "improved services" from DSA...which hasnt happened!
Whilst DSAs hinterland isnt so big as LBAs it is still significant. Because of a lack of "local"services the vast majority of SYs flying public still travel to MAN and EMA ( only 4% go to LBA!)
