First Group has announced that it plans to bring the Greyhound brand to the UK with the first route to operate between London, Portsmouth and Southampton. The service will use eleven 05/55 plate Irizar coaches being refurbished at Plaxton's Anston.
The coach spec boasts free wifi, leather seats and air conditioning. Free newspapers will also be offered to passengers. Seats start from £1.
Sir Moir Lockhead states the service is targeted at competing against existing coach services currently provided by National Express and Megabus.com but is aimed at luring car users between the south coast and London.
The service starts 14th September.

I have heard it said that it might not be such a good "Brand image" to many who have experienced some US operations!
