What will make it a ickle bit greener, is it became a first policy to turn those stupid B9TL/B7TL off at terminus'. I read on here that they put more fumes into the Atmosphere then buses like Volvo Olympians etc thanks to a Euro engine which all buses must have (one more reason to leave the EU)

I know I'm going to get shot down here, but, a main reason drivers leave engines on is that they quite often won't come back on again. If it's your last trip, on a long shift, the last thing you need is to hang around waiting for someone to come out to it. Yes, we usually get paid overtime, but it's not really the point.
Also in Winter, when you switch the engine off, the heaters switch off. Even with all layers of uniform on, it can get really cold.

I'm with you on this one much better to spend a bit more on fuel against the loss revenue and inconvenience of missing a trip out, especially when it will be a further hour until the next one. Hands up all those you would be willing to wait a further hour outside on a cold wet winters night.
