Transdev axe services due to construction work

Lancashire United have announced that they are axing two local bus services in Blackburn and have blamed construction work going on in Blackburn town centre for the decision.

The town centre is currently undergoing regeneration work, but while this has gone on, the number of people visiting Blackburn has dropped in favour of nearby places like Bolton, Manchester and Preston and this has meant falling passenger numbers in Blackburn.

Sounds like an excuse to cut back services IMO. If more people are going to Preston and Manchester will frequencies be improved to these destinations? Thought not. And to make further cutbacks after the recent changes make them sound like Arriva
