If Arriva are proposing to replace the remaining 10 older Darts/MPD at Belle Isle what are they going to replace them with?
It looks like the initial plan of transferring 10 ALX200's Darts from Dewsbury might not be possible. The ALX200's are longer and have a known poor turning circle.
The initial rumors of bringing some of the MPD's from Castleford and sending the ex-Dewsbury ALX200's to Castleford looks a non-starter for the very same reason.
Other potential options; send some of Belle Isle's plentiful supply of ALX300's to Castleford in exchange instead. I'm sure Castleford would just love some more of those.
Send the ALX200's back to Dewsbury in exchange for their Ikarus Polaris and Citibuses. Would Castleford ilke those!!! not sure. Upside Dewsbury would become 100% low floor.
I'm not sure if the ALX200's could work out of Heckmondwike, they used to have a couple 198-9 there a few years back, but I'm not sure if they were there for a specific purpose. Downside is they would more than likely have to displace ALX300's so that's no better than displacing some direct from Belle Isle.
Finally a really long shot, currently Selby use the Ex-White Rose Volvo B10BLE's mostly on the 415 to York. When the Wright DB300's arrive what will Selby use the Volvo's on. Could these go to Castleford and in exchange Selby get some more ALX200's to replace them. I think this option would get the Castleford vote. Not sure what Selby would have to say on that one.
All other options gratefully received.

Give Dewsbury all the old Northern Counties and Plaxton Pointer Darts in exchange for all of the ALX200's.

I suppose the B7TLs at Selby will get used on the Doncaster, Wakefield and Leeds routes. I think the Presidents might be too high for some of the bridges, Stourton springs to mind.

I'm not sure if there is much difference in height between the Presidents and the ALX400's. They will both pass under the low bridge at Crofton. That's the problem one as I understand it and why the East Lancs Volvos 511-521 have only ever been operated out of Heckmondwike and Selby. Those at Selby never find there way into Wakefield, Pontefract yes, sometimes on a the short working but Wakefield is a no go for them.

selby should get rid of the presidents and the renowns cos they are crap I like the renown's, there decent buses, but If selby are tired of the renowns then send them to Hecky, they'll do a good job over there, better than those ALX300's.

I've a feeling that Heckmondwike are more likely to get either some Selby Presidents or Castleford Spectra's to replace their remaining Step Entrance Volvo's. When that happens will Heckmondwike become the first 100 Low Floor Garage or will that honor go to Castleford?

Yeah, when Hecky get rid of the East Lancs it will be 100% Low Floor Garage followed by Castleford when they get rid of the Striders.

Yeah, when Hecky get rid of the East Lancs it will be 100% Low Floor Garage followed by Castleford when they get rid of the Striders. This is Arriva, they might split the step entrance Spectras 624-641 up between a number of depots to share out the pain of these!

Interesting to see that MPD's 216 and 218 working out of Belle Isle today. Not sure if this is the start of things to come or just a couple to be getting on with.
These two still carry the older Network Wakefield branding
217 complete with its complete new rear panel but interestingly incorrect rear lights was still working out of Castleford

Looks like Belle Isle have now recaptured 217 together with 221 from Castleford. They were both seen working on the MPD network in Wakefield this morning

Following the introduction of the Tempos and transfer of some of the ex-Dewsbury Darts to Castleford, 4 of the ex Castleford MPDs appear to be working on a regular basis from Belle Isle 216, 217, 218 and 221. I have also seen 220, 223, 224, 226 227 228 and 229 working from Castleford, does anyone know where 214 (A2 YBG) is now based?

Well they aren't moving them are they??? The one at Selby 202 and some of the Castleford ones 216,7,8 and 221 have found their way to Belle Isle. These have been replaced by some of the ALX200 displaced from Dewsbury. Selby received 172, 175 and 176. Castleford 182-185 while 171,3, and 174 remain at Belle Isle Belle Isle have withdrawn some of their older Darts i.e. 138, 140, 143, 157 and 158, yes 158 was off the road back in May

Castleford Based MPD 223 was seen working out of Wakefield earlier in the week.
Does this mean the end of 156, the last roller blind bus at Belle Isle.
