The One Show has come up to Wakefield to meet with two bus enthusiasts from West Yorkshire who are interested in Arriva Yorkshire. They were joined by John Sergeant, who visited the Wakefield depot, Wakefield bus station and travelled along the 110 route. The piece should be shown in the next week or so on the show at 7pm on BBC1. www.arrivabus.co.uk/content.aspx?id=5372

Recorded the show last night and watched it when I got home. Was great! John Seargeant did an interview with the forums very own Adam Smith, and another Bus enthusiast who I think was called Paul, but not too sure. They took a trip on the 110 past the Asda and then arrived at Wakefield Bus Station (obvious the Bus was running private as the 110 doesn't stop at the Bus Station during the day!)
They took pictures of a few Buses, as John Seargeant was trying to name what engine and body they were! He actually did quite well recognising a DAF Bus (Optare Spectra to me and you) and a Plaxton (Dennis Dart). Then there was a scene of them listening to the sound of a VDL SB200 Commander.
They then moved on to Belle Isle Depot, taking a look at Adam's Leyland Lynx. There were also shots of Strider 411, Olympian 616 and an Enviro400 (looked like Little Miss Sunshine) although unfortunately none of these were mentioned on screen.
After this they returned to Adam's home to look at his models as well as interviewing his wife about his hobby.
All in all a great show.

I was a decent item and verging on the right side of just taking the mick like you'd usually expect
Reference to a Dennis Falcon was a bit unusual

Personally I found it did very little to confound the usual stereotypes associated with this hobby, and the tone used by John Sergeant was nothing but facetious! Still, it's a mainstream primetime magazine show so what more could have been expected.

He said the Stagecoach bus was a Dennis Dart when it is actually a MAN Dennis Enviro 300.

I was annoyed at some inane remarks when he mentioned "a genuine enthusiast" and something about pot holes! What? Still, as you indicated, it was seen on prime time telly.
