Let's hope Northern keep it looking good. The other 144s in the red/grey metro livery look dirty, old, drap and certianly unappealing. These trains were only refurbished a couple of years ago but they look so worn!

I do think the Northern colours look good on the 144, more so than any other class but I'm not sure why. Anyway, how come Metro after many years are finally happy to give up their red colours on sponsored units, replaced only by an easily missed white Metro logo?

I think it is because northern are paying for paint job and seat covers chageing, as the 321's repaint and refurb was funderd by metro.

The seat covers are the same, no work has been done internally
The 144's spend a lot of their time out of West Yorkshire so painting them in Northern colours makes sense as well as making the network look more unified

The 321s paint job looks like Northern have just stuck some branding over a Metro red background. All Northerns trains should look as good as 144001

The white Metro logo on a purple background is a bit odd
I suppose with the 158s already losing Metro red, this follows the same policy

144008 is now done and 144003 is in i herd the 3 car units will take 1 week the 2 car units take 3 days so i think the 3 car units should only take 4 days or to be fare 5

Well assuming they don't work 7 days a week, perhaps only 5, that seems like an adequate time for doing the 3-car units.
