First have announced a change to the 90 route from Cross Green following public demand, which applies from today. The service will run a normal route to Link road, East Leeds Link Road, South Accommodation Road, Cross Green Lane, continue past St. Hilda's Church and Copperfields College to The Bridgefield public house, then Pontefract Lane and normal route. www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/yorkhumber/leeds/route_diversions/?item=4711

That only adds to confusion from the discussion over on the January changes thread. Metro must have foreseen this change as they have advertised the 90 as going that way since 1st Feb!

Well, it had to happen. Cross Green Lane has never (until now) been without an all day bus service because the local councillors are given stick if there is any threat of a service withdrawl from this area. To be fair, for reasons of safety the area needs a service at all times of the day. It has never had a safe reputation, particularly nowadays as the council have successfully turned the area into a ghetto. It feels quite scary, particularly at night, walking around some parts of this area, for example the St Hilders.

Seen a poster attached to one of the bus stops on Cross Green Lane advertising the route change. Additionally, it says Metro are talking to First with a view to divert some 62 journeys via Cross Green Lane. Roumour has it that the 62 is to become every 20 mins (overheard some residents talking) so my guess would be that one of these buses will run via Cross Green Lane instead of Richmond Hill, then instead of turning down to the Industrial Estate it will turn left at the Bridgefield via the normal return route to Leeds. This means that both Cross Green Lane and Richmond Hill are served so no complaints would arrise. Easy Road/Dial Street customers would still have 2 direct services an hour and chances are many of these customers would have been heading to the area bounded by Easy Road/Cross Green Lane anyway.
