Hi all, i have the info of what is left of the Scania N113CRB/Alexander Strider saloons in use at Leeds. All have been withdrawn from service now except the following which are still in use today in passenger service: 61103 8623, 61112 8634, 61114 8636, 61115 8637, 61116 8638, 61117 8639, 61119 8641, 61120 8642, 61121 8643, 61123 8645, 61124 8646, 61125 8647, 61127 8649, 61128 8650. Also 61126, its out today on service 8. I'm almost certain 61127 came off the same time as 61122. 61128 is on 91A today, a welcome sight (to me anyway!) amongst the recent influx of L113's & L94's.

There is a Scania Strider at Halifax, don't know if they are anymore or which one it is.

I remember they were delivered with YR mottif (whatever its called) and the seats were so hard they has to redo all the seats with extra cushioned ones then the "superbus" Mottif came on.

I think Gary meant motif as the logo like the First f not the material used on the seat.

Further to this 8601 K601HUG (61079) has now been withdrawn. If someone was looking to preserve one, it would have to be this one as it was the first Strider for Yorkshire Rider. This bus is going into preservation but first have said they will not be able to use it for comercial use and that it hasto come out of the barbie livery. "BUSES may 09"

What running days have these been then? As the Roe/Optare bodied Olympians quietly bowed down as with Metrobuses etc etc.

daniel-stazicker.fotopic.net/p58989604.htmlAlso ive been asked to pass on the following information.. D Stazicker has a number of seat cushions from Scania Striders surplus, these are the bench type ( 8601-34 ) in the original YR style and the later YR style ( smaller YR symbol ) . If anyone would like one please email lillyhall@ntlworld.com with a very small charge being made. You have to collect from LS19 Thanks

Why don't first sell their buses so they can be used by smaller companies? Arriva and Stagecoach buses are given a new lease of life if they are still roadworthy - why not First? It just seems like a waste of resources; scrapping a roadworthy vehicle.
