This thread is which bus is best suited to which livery. So for example Enviro400 is best suited to First's Livery. (include all liveries of all company's around england, and old and new and modern buses)
So i will start:
Black Prince livery, would be either best suited on an Alexander Strider or a Volvo Olympian.

One thing I have noticed about First group buses are the livery variations for example the royales new to Glasgow some of which are now at Leeds and the 30802-30807 batch transfer from Bradford to Rock Ferry do not have blue around the driver"s windscreen and in the case of 30802-30807 white front radiator grilles personally I prefer Royales and all first buses with the blue windscreen surrounds and black front grille on NC Palatine I also prefer black headlights surrounds. Other variations on the first livery includes the size and curve of the willow leaf and location of rear and front fleet nos. I wonder if there are any guidelines from head office regarding the repainting of buses in group fleets?

Livery/Bus combinations that would work or do work for me include: Wright Millennium style single deckers in Stagecoach colours. There have been a number taken into the fleet recently and they look really good.
The Preston Bus livery works well on Optare Solos and the East Lancs Esteems.
Livery/Bus combinations that would not work or do not work for me include: Wright Eclipse Gemini in Stagecoach livery. Not happened yet but I think the curve of the top deck would not suite the livery.
Optare Solos in standard Arriva livery. They look bad, plus there’s a number of different ways in which the livery is applied.
The new Travel West Midlands/Dundee/Coventry/Surrey livery is just so plain and boring and does not suite any bus.
As you may gather none of these are West Yorkshire but West Yorkshire fleets (for me) contain no real stand out livery/bus combinations. First is just plain and un-inspiring. Stagecoach, although colourful, is common and Arriva is another plain livery. Huddersfield Bus Co have bucked the trend a little with their bright Green Centros which I do like but other then that there isn’t much else in WY.

Problem is it looks like a Geldards bus, albeit a very modern Geldards bus, as they also use this same livery style - I wonder who originally designed that!

Could you say a Geldards bus looks like one of their buses without branding! The livery was designed by Samantha Beeley (surname possibly spelt incorrectly!) who also designed The Zone and Shuttle662 brands for Blazefield.
There is an operator in Scotland who uses the 36 livery on Geminis as well!

Far more of a concise answer than I was expecting! So as it was designed within Blazefield, I wonder why they seem quite happy for others to use it?

HDT's version is better than E M Horsburgh of Pumperston has the gold colour clashes too much with the red.
