I'm sorry but what is the point in that? I don't see what it will bring will probably just be another Yorkshirebus.net site for the kids to sign up to, maybe that will make SYT even better in the longrun and get rid of some of the crap members. So maybe this is a good idea afterall.
Sorry I just don't see the logic in setting up a same forum with nearly the same name to cover the same region, is 1 not enough?

Cool, sadly has I have just said on the SYT forum I will be sticking with that forum as will some other members so that SYT does not suffer, sorry Jack, good luck though.
Personally I am baffled at why you are creating a South Yorkshire one rather than a East or North Yorkshire forum, but that's me.

Well I do think there is a niche for a forum where you can get the information and discussion but not to the extent where some of the threads are like MSN conversations so keep you're eye off the ball for a minute and takes ten years to catch up! When only a minute percentage of that information you may find of use!

I wouldn't wish to cause significant damage to Sam's hard work that he has put into the forum anyway to just to set the record straight!

Well good luck with it anyway, but that is only because it is a very busy forum, this forum would be the same if people actually used it as much I'm sure. Wonder if it will take off though, maybe another www.yorkshirebus.net site which seems to have failed miserably from something which had great potential.

The problem with the Yorkshirebus forum was that it became residence for quite a few members that were dismissed from SYTF and here. I believe siy22366 (was it!?) created his own forum.
I will have it open as a trial for a couple of months and see what happens. If there is sufficient demand for it, it will remain open and likewise if everyone wished to stay on SYTF I will close it and intergrate it with this forum.

Not sure if you still talk to Sam or not but why not work together to improve SYT and try and sort the problems out, as what I'm worried about is posts and people move from SYT onto your new forum and then they both die out as a result. That is the main comments that have been made so far, but I'm sure they can work well together.
Yorkshirebus.net just seems to have been taken over by under 16 members and if your not careful your new forum may also get the same treatment if they are banned from the main forum, that is what happened with the Sheffield Forum a few years back.

I will weigh up the pros and cons of creating the forum and will get back to you tomorrow. Has anything being said on TSY?

May I perhaps suggest that this debate be brought to an end, at least for now until a new forum actually exists, as fuelling speculation and rumour across two forums isn't very productive.
If anybody wishes to set up a forum for any purpose they can do so, and how successful it will be shouldn't really be of much concern to anybody.

Sorry to have gone on guys, I can see why Jack wants to create the forum, but I would have thought time would have been better spent making a East or North Yorkshire forum or even changing this forum into a Yorkshire wide forum. Then again the latter was not accepted by the majority when it came about and is one of the reasons why the forums were split I believe, when it was posted at the time.
Not much really, just me giving you free advertising ;D
