AY 1711 noted failed and being hooked up for tow at Newton Bar at around 9.00pm this evening. It hasn’t tracked on Bus Times since June?

It hasn’t tracked on Bus Times since June? 1711 been parked at the back of Belle Isle for the past several months with battery and engine problems. That is unless its moved since last Saturday 30th. Penfold Ha, I must need to go to Specsavers. It was definitely FK-something, the last three reg letters. Be interesting to hear if it’s still at the back of Belle Isle. 1022 was tracking on the 110 at around that time - wonder if that machine was on a different vehicle?

A trip to Specsavers probably not be needed now !. Im reliably told that an E200 did a trip on the 110s around teatime too. Penfold

It was accompanied by a tow truck and a couple of cars. Wonder if it was on some kind of test run, but 9.00pm would be an odd time to do that.

i think I'm losing my mind, or if not then we've had a bit of everything in Leeds today
I've just seen a Bradford streetdeck on the 50 and 2 Leeds streetdecks on the X6, 37500 looked like it wanted to be a hybrid on the 7's and a ex-York Halifax B7RLE was on the 55

I’m pretty sure 37500 is on the 7s cos Hunslet are getting rid of their hybrids due to the replacement battery’s being too expensive (I think). Unsure why Hunslet have a York single deck tho.

But the thing is, why didn't Bradford send the 2 ex Leeds buses to Bramley, you might as well not bother with all this farce with local brands. Some people seeing a green bus coming along Broadway might not think to look at the destination until it's too late as they're expecting the usual blue one, same too in Leeds with people not expecting a blue bus until they suddenly see the destination, especially on a route with no other services.

I saw this "discussion" as to why Bradford didn't send the Leeds liveried buses on the First facebook page and there's a number of plausible reasons.
1st is that they were both out in service when the call came from Bramley (1 was in service all day) so that means swapping them out and then taking to Bramley - more hassle than it's worth.
2nd is maintenance schedules, Bradford may have them earmarked for a service etc in the coming days so chose to send 2 vehicles that aren't due anything anytime soon.
3rd is nobody cares what colour the bus is in Leeds, as long as it turns up with their destination on the screen. Sure the LeedsCity brand looks good, but there's so many other liveries/adverts/heritage in service, 2 vehicles out of nigh on 400 aren't going to make a blind bit of difference.

Bradford do have a green bus, it’s the macmillan support bus. But I’d assume that the Bramley ones weren’t sent back cos they were either waiting to be serviced or were due to replace a Bradford bus that was coming out of service

Instead of sending Bradford Buses, Halifax would have been perfect. Plenty of buses rotting away in the back of Elmwood not seeing service because it's the Christmas holidays. Would be useful as it would mean that Bradford wouldn't be down 2 public service vehicles but neither would Halifax.

Halifax & Huddersfield tend to send vehicles after easter normally but that might change slightly from Huddersfield point of view given they no longer have the uni shuttle.
