I know Halifax and Huddersfield aren't great for hills but I was hoping that they would get some new buses. Electric buses wouldn't do too bad on 548/9, 521/2/3 and the Mixenden's.

Hills have little to no affect with most electric buses, as Hunslet already has electric vehicles it makes sense to bid for more vehicles either there or Bramley as extending the current charging infrastructure is easier (& cheaper) than starting from nothing especially as it's fairly unlikely the bid will be successful anyway due to West Yorks being one of the bigger winners in ZEBRA round 1.

It's been said on other forums & twitter/X that these are using the funding that was originally for the Transdev Flyer services.

Possibly, though it is has also been said that it is extra funding, on top of what is already confirmed. I wonder what the deal is with Arriva's order? Maybe they won't bother with the new ownership now pretty much in charge and franchising on the horizon.

From what i've read elsewhere it's the Transdev Flyer funding (for 17 SDs) + an extra £3.4m to make it 22x DDs. I Wonder if this will make up part of the 41 DDs that they tried getting in ZEBRA 2, as it stated even though they lost the bid that WYCA would look at alternative ways of funding them.

It would be a shame for Flyer not to receive new electrics. I was under the impression that Hunslet was getting the next load of Electroliners from their Zebra 2 bid.

It might be connected to the franchising, as I wouldn't be surprised if the Flyer network becomes part of the Leeds & Bradford 'large' bids & get moved back to Hunslet & Bradford depots like when First operated the routes. Thinking about it you are probably correct over the ZEBRA 2 bid being for Hunslet, hopefully WYCA find a way to fund them as well as that would mean a fair amount of the Leeds network would then be electric.
